Nice tray for contemplation
I like this tray overall. It will not hold a full sized tarot deck in the box covered by the door but it will hold a spread and the back holds a few cards upright. Depending on the width of the cards, it will hold 3-4. For my purposes, this would be used more for focusing on a single spread or contemplation of select cards. I like that it has separate cubbies that could hold crystals, herbs, or charms or whatever trinkets one might want to place in them. The finish is a little rough and could use a good wax or maybe even a light sanding. I think this is intentional to give a more rustic feel to the piece. Overall, I like it and think it is useful for focus and contemplation but not necessarily a full tarot deck holder.

Does NOT nold a full Tarot Deck
It is a nice enough piece, the finish is a bit rough. However a coat of furniture wax will take care of most of that. However, it is too thin to hold a full tarot deck. caveat emptor, i did not think to look at the depth. It's not worth returning, but I gave it to a friend for her Oracle Cards and she thinks it is wonderful. Be sure it fits what you want to put inside.

Nice enough
I would say this is more of a tarot card stand. My decks would not fit in the part with the lid, and I wouldn't leave them out and uncovered (cats). This is a width and depth issue, my decks are too wide and I have too many cards. This would fit something closer in size to a playing card deck though. That said, I knew I wasn't storing my cards in this (the boxes my decks came with are too cute) and got it for the stand along the back, and the individual trays. The back tray itself is about the size and depth of a playing card maybe a bit longer, and the two up front are about two inch squares, a smidge larger, but not quite 2.5 inches. You can line your daily pulls along the stand in the back, use whatever you'd like in the trays, the holder to the right can still store some things, you stick your finger through the full moon hole and just pull the lid off. My daughter recently borrowed this on a weekend trip, she stored a couple candles, some crystals, and a small tube of oil and pouch of herbs to dress her candles with. She was pleased with it
