Mirror's Edge: Imposters, Book 3

the imposters series still does not disappoint
I loved growing up with the uglies series and the imposters series is no different I just finished this book and looking forward to book 4.Without spoiling anything this book out of the three so far spends the most time diving into the world of uglies years later. More so what it’s like to live in the obsessive tech connected and monitored world. I loved spending time seeing this from a normal point of view. Don’t get me wrong these books are not political, but the world the author has laid out especially going from uglies series book 4 “extras” and this book have so much in step with reality now and where we might be going. It’s just a great dystopian read and a little bit of a cautionary tale.

I am worried that my return to YA is downhill from here
I haven’t gasped, well reading a book in so long, and it felt so good. Even when I disagree with the twists that are chosen, I end up, loving it. How does that happen? How do I disagree with what’s going on, but still super love it’s resolution? It’s also the first book in so long that had me focused on not skipping lines, because I was so enjoying the suspense and didn’t want to miss anything. It’s everything I hope to read about: coming of age, cool tech described in action, romance (without any of the fluff or eye rolls), concepts that comment on what our current society is reliant on, great action scenes (though I prefer the adventure and extreme sports aspects more than the combat), and then finally the stress of power dynamics. MMMMM yummy.

9/10
This book was really good just like all of the other Westerville books. However about halfway through it wasn’t keeping me on the edge of my seat anymore. The ending is great but (SPOILER ALERT) when a main character dies it’s not as heart wrenching as it should be. Overall 9/10!

Please tell me there will be a book 4!!! 😮😮
I read the Uglies series back in high school and this follow up trilogy did not disappoint. (PSA: If you've never read the Uglies, you can still read this and enjoy it immensely ;))Through the series I was always waiting for this other shoe to drop and the ending of this third book did not disappoint. It was starting to drag just a little, then took some wild and crazy turns.Hope I don't have to wait another decade for the next era of this story.

When I think it can’t get better...
This book yet again had me in the edge of my seat. I barely ate or drank let alone did anything else because I just couldn’t but Mirror’s Edge down. I laughed and I definitely cried. The twist and turns in the book has me repeatedly saying this just can’t get better and then it does. Mirrors Edges was a perfect ending to an already phenomenal series.

Quite a few mistakes
The story was good even though it had some mistakes. One of them was when they changed their identities. Riggs refused to change her name, but that wasn’t a problem because according to Shreve data there were over two hundred people with the name Riggs living in the city, but when Riggs suddenly leaves and Frey/Islyn wonders out loud where she is the city’s AI says “You mentioned Riggs, but I don’t know who that is.” Well couldn’t the AI believe she was talking about any of the other two hundred plus Riggs living in the city of Shreve!! It made no sense. It also had quite a few spelling mistakes.

another re-reading of the Impostors series
I have to say that, although I do re-read books, whenever aI need to escape the real world I find Scott Westerfeld’s Tally Youngblood series totally engaging. My first review of this particular book gave it only 4 stars but now on its umpteenth reading I have to upgrade to 5. If you are inspired to read a novel many times over, it merits more. The technology imagined has not become outdated which is also good, and for anyone thinking this is just YA fiction, I am decades over the age of majority.Thoroughly recommend.
