Saved ourselves a few thousand fixing our backyard drainage issue ourselves. Feeding this with 4” perforated flexible drain pipe on both sides, buried in a trench filled with gravel. So far so good. I didn’t quite understand the holes on the side (I also didn’t bother to read the instructions) but just used a 4” hole saw in the center of one of the hole templates and it worked for what we needed.

Had downspout running into corrugated pipe a foot underground draining downhill, worked great until roots got into the corrugated pipe. After looking at flimsy, cheap catch basins I finally found this sturdy, well-built product. After putting in 4" PVC pipe to solve the root problem and attaching it to this basin my drainage problem is solved. Took my 5" hole saw blade to the center of the grate and ran corrugated pipe from the downspout into the grate. This setup is so slick I ordered another set for the other side of the house, turned the other grate over so you can see how sturdy and well-built the grate is. BTW, saw some comments about a lack of instructions - go to the Polylok website for great videos and downloadable PDF instructions. I’m a happy camper :-)

Great product, fantastic price. My only gripe is I didn't receive instructions and couldn't find any on the manufacturer's website. To those who are wondering, here's my take. The product comes with a variety of pre-scored holes which are cut out as necessary for your project. A utility knife does the trick if one is patient and inserts the knife, uses a rocking motion, and moves around the circle. The four adapters shown in the photo each have two parts. One part has a soft vinyl middle with handy "peel out" sections for different sized pipe. I was using 4" SDR35 PVC pipe. After tearing/peeling out the gasket to the 4" mark it was still too tight, but was easily adapted with scissors. This piece goes inside of the box. You insert the pipe into the hole in the box (the one you made with the knife) and through this piece which fits snugly around the pipe to seal it. The second part of the adapter is a ~4" plastic "nut" that secures the first piece from the outside of the box. The retaining ring/nut is only about 3/8" thick so it takes a little patience to get it threaded properly. I added silicone sealer but if you do this, attach the nut first and seal it from the outside. During my first attempt I tried to squirt the silicone around the pipe before screwing on the retaining nut and it makes it nearly impossible, and very messy. I connected this to an existing irrigation drain and will be using it as an outdoor shower basin. It's sturdy and will support a person's weight. As one reviewer noted, put the lid/grate on before you pack dirt around it to avoid distorting the shape. Once I figured out how to put the darn thing together, I was very pleased with the product. It would help if they made the retaining nuts a bit larger with a few more threads.

This is a high quality product. Its not flimsy or anything like other cheap units. Heavy duty and easy to install.

We used this to box turn a corner and add water from a downspout in a french drain system (I know, I know, don't add roof water to a French drain, but it's a very small amount of roof in an oversized french drain system doing lighter duty and I have gutter guards) and it worked great! The product seems to be extremely strong and durable. The holes were easy to cut out on the box and the gaskets included were simple to use and effective. It was super helpful that there are several height options on the hole placement. This made it easier for us to keep our downslope going. As other reviews have noted, you cannot use the gasket on the lowest precut hole spot.This box is huge and well made.

the unit is well built Im not sure if the screws are stainless as they should me. the fittings i received would not fit my 6 inch corrugated pipe nor regular pipe do i think. Its in the ground so ill have to invent my own solutions

I’m a landscape contractor and catch basins this large can cost hundreds of dollars. This one is reasonably priced and worked great. Also other catch basins only give you a choice of one height for your inlet and outlet holes. This one gives you multiple positions.
