The replacement dérailleur did fix my skipping issue (must have been a bent hanger). Although a one for one replacement for a Box store Mongoose MTB, the installation was not smooth. Removal of the lower idler jockey wheel to get the chain threaded on - the frame bracket become floppy and extremely loose making it time consuming to get the pulley on. I almost aborted to return this part as damaged goods. I had to tightened the upper jockey wheel screw as much as i could to reassemble. Once done it seemed okay.. Build quality is definitely not as good as the original in my opinion. Can not rate 5 stars.

I watched a few YouTube videos, and was able to install, and adjust it myself. My Grandson was thrilled!
