Great camera for those wildlife visitors
Fairly simple to set up and gives excellent results and quality photos and videos. Recommended batteries are a bit expensive but do last quite a long time.

I wanted a good wildlife camera mostly for night time videos and didn't want wireless connectivity. I first tried and had to return a cheaper one bought on Amazon which was terrible despite many good reviews (and a few negative ones like mine). This one does an excellent job and no problem downloading from the card to a Windows laptop. I have not tried the other shooting modes yet but I had an older similar model Browning which worked excellent for still night and day photos and likelysince it takes good night time videos it should work fine otherwise.

We monitor foxes on our property, post the videos on various websites and have used many very expensive trail cams. When we had some of our pricey trail cams and other items stolen from the property we installed these to monitor the property for trespassers. Having used many expensive trail cams I was surprised just how good this was. It was very easy to set up, scroll through and does what it's supposed to do. We tested it for a few days at our house first and the results were terrific! The jury is out on how well it compares to the fox trail cams but it certainly works very well to monitor our property for trespassers with clear images and video. I like the fact that it detects motion from the side as someone approaches the camera range. In the long run It will be interesting to see how it works through the winter and how long the batteries last. But so far I'm quite please and impressed with this trail cam and will probably buy more. I will note that I also purchased the Trail Cam Galore lockable cord to keep these from being stolen.

The Browning Trail Cameras Recon Force Elite HP5 - BTC-7E-HP5 is an excellent trail cam. We are having so much fun with it. Very easy set up, 2 inch screen, photos are excellent and so are the videos. It is a workhorse and we still have lots of battery power left. The photos and videos of wildlife are crisp, clear and timed perfectly. Highly recommend.

Purchased this game camera on 20 July 24 after using an earlier Browning model three years before it failed. Mounted ReconForceElite HP5 t in woods beside our mtn cabin on 24Jul24. When swapping memory card on 14Aug24, camera appeared DOA. Recorded images until 8Aug24, including of bear and deer, but a whole series of totally white images over a couple of days. Turned back on to only a Voltage calibration screen. No other options available. Checked old batteries - total voltage at 9 volts. Replaced batteries and memory card. No change. Same screen. Returned to Browning on 16 Aug24. Camera immediately returned to me with dismissive message that nothing was wrong with it. Put in Browning memory card and new Energizer batteries (Checked at 13.3 volts) and replaced in woods on 2 Sep 24. It recorded one video of a squirrel. No recordings after that. On recovery, same apparent DOA. A voltage check showed batteries drained to 7 volts. After replacing with Duracell batteries (13.3 volts), got same Voltage Calibration message. Nothing else works. Recommend looking for a different game cam and a manufacturer that doesn't dismiss customer complaints.

Purchased the Recon Force Elite HP5 on Amazon / Oct 12 2024 to use in my front yard (today is Sept 26 2025). Cam worked well at first but has not produced legible pics for the last two recoveries (about 2 months) and I have just contacted Warranty and I will see what they say. The camera has not been abused and simply been attached to a tree in my front yard the whole time. I've requested that they repair or replace. I'll update on the outcome.
