macOS Sequoia For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech))

Good Reference Source for Mac OS
In typical fashion for the dummie range of books, this is very good. I have changed from PC to Mac for my photography and music work, so this is helping me to find Mac equivelants to my workflow. I've been a PC user (and IT professional) since the mid 80s, so some habits die hard!

Well written and much more informative than this series was years ago.
Previously, I preferred the Missing Manual series of books but as they seem to have ceased publication I tried this and was pleasantly surprised at the vastly improved quality since I last tried to use one. It still doesn't cover encrypted sparse bundles, which is a shame, but otherwise appears to be quite comprehensive.

Really useful
As a new convert to Apple I found this really helpful. Easy to understand for the elderly non technical users like me, but it covers a lot of more advanced stuff that I will never need as well.

author could do better.
the book is a bit like the old car manuals by Haynes, the info you need to solve your particular problem is not mentioned, tells you about all the features that the Mac has ,but how to carry out basic operations and solve simple problems is not there ,all too easy for the more experienced but after all it is supposed to be for dummies. very info on photos and maps.

Not very useful
I bought this because I have just bought an Apple computer and the last time I had one was 20 years ago and I was hoping for a bit of updated insight.. But there is nothing in here that is not obvious by playing around with the operating system. I was hoping to find some in depth information, but no, nothing I did not know from 20 years ago or that I could not find out by exploring and using a little bit of intelligence. I know this is “for dummies” but even so. Just grateful I only paid half retail price.half price.
