Does a Good Job, Until It Doesn't
Good value in a useful product where the temperature reading of a pool, spa or other facility is desired remotely, indoors, for example. We had no way to check the calibration, but its readings gave no reason to be doubted. Just installed--no indication of its longevity, but the internals appear to be very well made. One caveat: keep the threaded ring on the remote sensor tight or moisture may get in and disrupt its operation. If the pool has a cover, we suggest cutting a clearance opening in it to keep the remote unit exposed to the atmosphere, again to minimize the chance of moisture intrusion.Update: Unit worked very well for 2-3 weeks, then stopped communicating the temperature. Opening the pool unit revealed a troubling issue--water inside. We tried drying it out, which enabled it to work for a while, but then more water got in. We could not determine where the leak was, so sadly, just tossed it. Too bad the water sensor doesn't like being in the water!

Awesome except leaks and stops working in one month
First off, love this device and it does exactly what I needed. Accuracy of temperature indicated seems good as it agrees with my other two thermometers. Problem is, almost exactly one month after put into use it suffered water intrusion and stopped working. The pool device was not abused or taken down to the bottom of the pool--not played with by kids. Still, water intrusion is visible in digital display on top and repair seems like a lost cause. If manufacture could figure out a way to better seal this device, they would have a home-run. UPDATE 7/21/25: have to commend Amazon/Manufacturer on excellent return and re-ship experience. Just two days after item failed, I have returned the defective item and received a replacement! Replacement is in use now and working fine. Will see if the prior leakage was a one-off.

Does Not last One Season
The ThermoPro Digital Pool Thermometer worked well for a couple of months. Water does eventually seep in and it quits functioning. Opened it up to let it dry out and then put it back together after resealing with silicone lubricant on threads. Worked another couple of months and failed again.. Same problem. It did not make it through one season. Finally just threw it away.

Excellent Pool Thermometer
Excellent! Bought this unit to replace a different brand that was defective. Extremely satisfied with this unit, I have the temperature sensor in the skimmer box of our inground concrete pool and the receiver unit on the refrigerator in the kitchen, at least 50'. Works great, no connection issues, very accurate, large numerals. Very easy set up right out of the box. Couldn't be more satisfied.Unlike the previous brand that we had for a while but then the sensor began to leak. Contacted their customer service and their only response was "it's out of Warranty ". It probably only needed a new gasket, but no, they were of no assistance. So I wrote a negative review for their product on Amazon. So in conclusion, I am very happy with this pool thermometer and highly recommend - plus their product description mentions that they have excellent US based customer service, hopefully I won't need it...

Great so far compared to other models.
Using it for over 8 months in a hot tub and works great so far. You must make sure the lid/top is sealed properly. It is easier to get right on this model compared to others. Do not get the Base unit wet (like accidentally dropping in a dog water bowl... lol) it is NOT water resistant, not that it was promised to be .It will stop working until you dismantle it and dry it out... once you do its was fine.

Worked for 5 months before leak
We’re exactly 5 months out from purchasing and using this thermometer. Unfortunately even with changing the batteries on both the transmitter and receiver, it’s still giving inaccurate readings, but I’m pretty sure it’s because there is water leaking into the transmitter’s screen, and water in the battery compartment. No major weather fluctuations or physical damage to the transmitter to cause this. Just failure out of nowhere. 3 stars for it working the first handful of months, but disappointed with the lifespan of this product. Will make an attempt at getting a refund or at least a replacement.

Works well
I very much like this what this does, and rate it a 4 because it does exactly what I expect it to, so do not see a need to rate it a five. I wanted somehting to keep my pool water temp and outdoor air temp. this does that. There is a small removable magnet on the back that you can use to place this on a metal piece to hold it. I had perfect use for that, so that was advantageous for me.UpdateWell after less than 60 days the item failed. It no longer reports water temp. No idea why. Opened it up and no water entered the battery box and I changed the battery yet it no longer reports water temp.Second update.I called the manufacturer to trouble shoot the issue. They simply sent me a new sending unit. Cannot ask for much better customer service then that. Lets hope it lasts longer this time.

Stopped working quickly
Worked great for about a month then the probe stopped working. I couldn’t find any water leakage into the probe, but functionality (screen numbers, connection to the remote reader, etc.) slowly started failing and then completely failed.
