Very satisfied, but with one small caveat
I have an EV, not a plug-in hybrid. It came with a charging cable. I was thinking about just having a dedicated 240-volt outlet installed until I found out that I could only charge at a maximum of 40 amps (80% of a 50-amp circuit breaker max for an outlet) rather than my car’s maximum and fastest 48 amps. Plus, the electrician informed me about some outlet code requirements for GFCI, etc., so I decided on a charging station. I bought the Grizzl-E 48A Ultimate Level 2 EV Charger with J1772 connector for several reasons: 1) It charged the quickest at the maximum of 48 amps; 2) it’s made in Canada, not China; 3) it’s UL Certified; 4) it came with a heavy-duty 25 ft charging cable—long enough for my needs inside the garage; and 5) I liked the simple, but heavy-duty metal case—no bells and whistles. My car displays all the charging info I need and includes settable max charging limits and a scheduler/timer. The Grizzl-E does have a supporting phone app that I have installed. While it duplicates most of the things my car can do, it does allow me to enter the kwh cost of my electricity so I can track charging costs. A licensed electrician installed a 60-amp 240-volt breaker (80% of 60 amps equals 48 amps max) in my panel and hard-wired the charging station (cost around $500). WiFi setup of the charging station and connection to the app worked the first time and has been stable ever since installing two months ago. The charger works great, and it’s nice to fast charge my car to 90% in just a few hours. The only thing I don’t like is the included holder for the cable and J1772 charging handle. I think it’s sourced from a third party. Its plastic feels cheap and hinky compared to the charging station’s metal. Because of the angle at which it mounts to the wall, it’s hard to loop the cable around and insert the charging handle in the enclosure; plus, the charging handle doesn’t seem securely latched in place. Grizzl-E could do better with this.

N.America made quality without a data grab...Simply, Just works
works great just as advertised. The app gives enough data to be useful but isn't required for operation. I could see where wiring might be of concern for some, it's a matter of having a circuit avaible that will handle it, we had an exisiting 60amp ciruit that is no longer used for welder that this took the place of. Our PHEV won't accept the max charing so we turned it down to 16 amps output via the dip-switches. It's a fantastic addition over the 120v charger we were using previously. It now charges in a matter of a few hours rather than over night. We only bought this rather than a small 20-30 amp charger due to being mfg'd in North America and having growth capacity if we bought a dedicated EV. Currently own a '25 Kia Sorento PHEV hybrid and yes it's overkill but will grow going forward, isn't overly complicated, overly connected, etc. Would have rather bought a USA made unit but from months of efforts and comparison this was the only unit that checked the boxes and was about $300 cheaper than it's nearest competitor that was built in North or Central America. Thank you Canada for producing a reasonably simple charger that doesn't collect a rediculous amount of data, require an app to connect/charge at a reasonable price.

Solid charger, works as advertised.
Installed according to the instructions, worked the first time. Looks like it will last. Haven't tried any of the wifi/app nonsense, not sure if that works or not. (But all that stuff is optional, which makes me happy.)

Full power level 2 charging
This hardwire unit was relatively easy to install if you're qualified to work with residential electrical. Provides full L2 charging power for most EVs today. #6 wire and a 60A dual pole cpd is what you'll need. Has a nice app to change charge parameters and store charging history. Works without issue powering my KIA EV9 GTL

Not recommended!
You pay nearly $500 for a charger which is to be professionally installed, you would think they would include the full installation instructions for the professional your are paying by the hour. Nope, you get an abbreviated pamphlet. We got it done, but I had to apologize to the electrician for the lack of documentation. Honestly, it isn't that complicated, but they should provide full installation instructions right out of the box. Next, the company is also too cheap to include the hardware to secure the charger against theft. That's extra and no, it isn't an option to be able to purchase it as a bundle. By the way, the Master Lock 1471DAT Trailer Coupler Latch Lock, 3-4/10" Long Shackle x 9/32" Diameter Pin (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000AZ7WJ) also works. I hate the app! Such a frustrating experience! I logged into the charger to verify it was working when the electrician first powered it on, following the included instructions. What the instructions failed to mention is that the app is too stupid to setup the charger if someone did manually login via a browser. I got an error "station already in use. If the issue persists, please contact support:" with a link to click on. Since the problem doesn't fix itself, yes it persists! I clicked on the link and was taken to a support page. I searched for "station already in use". Their own website could not find a reference to the error message that their app was giving me. Thank god for AI! It was able to help me. Once I got past that error, I got "Your device seems to be offline." when I logged in the app. My charger was obviously on but the app was zero help. Every time I started the app I was greeted by the error. Again, AI to the rescue. When you use the app, you are forced to create an account and forced to agree to them using your data. You have to provide your name, phone number, physical address and email. WHY!? At first I thought it was so they could do something smart and automatically bring up the available utility rates based on my address. NOPE! I had do all that manually. Needless to say, if I had to do it over again, I would not buy this charger!

Great quality, almost flawless performance after adjusting router location.
I’ve had this for almost four months. This was the cheapest WiFi-connected charger that also allowed you to set amperage limits via physical switches in case the WiFi is down or the product isn’t supported. I’ve been very happy with the product: +charges consistently with no issues +seems extremely well made and weatherproof +charge cable doesn’t get stiff in cold weather +app interface is pretty easy to use and allows easy scheduling, which is the mode I use most +easy to paint to match the house color (with primer first)… definitely wasn’t leaving random bear claw and cyber truck graphics in the front of my house, but the powder coating is really nice and painted easily -as many comments have mentioned, the WiFi connectivity range isn’t great. My router is approximately 30 feet from the charger, but they both happen to be along the plane of an exterior wall. The charger lost its connection about three times in the first week I had the unit and the only way to reset that is to reset the breaker although that’s not particularly difficult. However: by simply moving my router out a foot or so from the wall inside my house, so that the router was not literally just transmitting through the plane of the wall to get to the charger, it seems to have maintained a connection with no interruptions for the last few months. So perhaps not the best connectivity but really hasn’t been an issue.

Easy install. Great charger for EVs
Great charger. It is literally a box with an LED and a heavy wire with the plug on the end. It does come with a cable rack that has a plug holder in the middle. I mounted this unit in the garage and I hang the cable on the rack and just let the plug hang down. The plug mount is nice but it does cause the cable to stick out a bit, and I don’t have the room for it to be sticking out and me walking into it. The wiring is straight forward. There is no common wire with this unit - 2 load connects and a ground connect. I used a 60 amp breaker and 60 amp wire and used the white as the ground (colored the ends green with a marker for future reference ). Connecting the unit to WiFi is ok, not easy, but ok. I added a mesh system to the house and the WiFi changed, that was a bit more challenging to reset the WiFi on the charger (turn breaker off, flip dip switches, turn power back on, blah blah blah), but after reading and re-reading the instructions and Googling it a few times I finally got it reconnected. The WiFi is only needed if you want the app data on the charging. Honestly I never use the app. I get home plug the car in and unplug in the morning. It comes with a chart that explains the colors of the LED on the charger, so that is hanging next to the charger, not that I have needed it, but it may come in handy one day. Happy Charging Enjoy

Works great, no problems.
Have been using the charger for a while now and have not had any problems. Easy to use the app to set the current limit to slow charge most of the time and speed it up if needed. Appreciate the case being metal instead of plastic.
