Exactly what I was looking for!
I have been searching for a grater that would actually grate garlic and not just turn it into a paste. The larger side of this grater makes small thin slices, so there is still some amount of texture left to it. The smaller side is a little bit larger than the grate of a microplane grater. I've bought several hand held graters on my search for size I wanted and these are different than any of the others I have found. The holes are extremely sharp and give a super clean cut to garlic, vegetables, cheese, etc.. The silicone handles on each end are comfortable to hold and very secure even if my hands are wet or greasy and the strip of silicone on the underside, between the two ends of the grater is nice if you need to rest it on the side of a pot, pan or bowl. It doesn't take any effort to hand wash it. They have thought of everything and didn't add anything that was unnecessary. It is very well made and a great quality, so I expect that it will last for many, many years. At less than $20.00 it is a great value. Perfect for any kitchen and a nice gift for the experienced or new cook.

Don't delay!
Yes, it is expensive compared to others BUT it is far superior to anything out there. It grates garlic perfectly and though I have not used the larger end yet, I am am sure it won't disappoint. I think the best quality of this grater is its size and how it is curved so that it can stand alone over a cutting board or be placed over bowls, pots for ease of use. It cleans up far easier than my other graters. All in all, it is a high quality item and an ingenious design. Whenever I need to grate garlic, I think to myself "Oh goody! I get to use my new grater!"

If you cook a lot this is a good thing to have
Before I started streaming channels, I watched the Rachel Ray show on my local station. I cook with garlic a lot and cannot stand garlic presses. I was looking for an easier way to get the garlic cut up when I saw her using this grater. I thought, "That's just what I need!" So I bought it. I was astounded at how big this thing is. I guess I didn't pay that much attention to size while while watching Rachel Ray cook. I find it very hard to hold onto, plus I don't like the smell of garlic on my hands so always wear disposable gloves when handling garlic. Can't tell you how many times when using this grater that I grated plastic glove into my garlic, which is why I don't grate the garlic directly into what I am cooking, but grate it onto a paper plate. This grater is EXTREMELY sharp! I have cut myself several times when using it, which is what prompted me to give it to a friend who cooks a lot more frequently than I do. Don't get me wrong, it's a great grater to have, But I do think that it needs to come with a set of instructions and some safety recommendations. There was absolutely Nothing of that sort in the box it came in, which Really surprised me. I do recommend it as a product, but also with the caveat about how sharp it is, so use accordingly.

Razor sharp. I have cut my thumb twice. Caution when using.
Shreds garlic great. Also removed some thumb skin. Rachel uses it with such ease. It is like a tiny mandolin slicer.

Perfect for grating harder cheeses like Parmesan
Easy to use grater - rubberized ends let you set on top of bowl allowing you to press down firmly with no slip, while grated cheese falls into the bowl. Two sizes - a normal width, and a nicer wide width - both with a thin thickness that gives you a nice fluffy pile of grated cheese. Does a great job with harder cheeses like Parmesan or Romano. Not as good with softer cheese like Muenster. And will not provide the large amounts of thick grated cheese you might want to use to top lasagna. So not a grater for all purposes, but just wonderful for cheese to top salads, soups or tacos - or to mix in salads or tortellini.

Perfect for yourself and as a gift
I have wanted this thing forever and finally bought one. It's just great. It's sharp, it's easy to hold, easy to grip. I love the larger grater. And it's sharp. Did I mention that it's sharp? This would make a great gift for a shower, housewarming and definitely something for yourself. It exceeded my expectations because I just love it. After having old and dull graters all these years, this is a jewel!

We have been using this grater for about 3 years and it is still sharp as new. A wonderful gadget that we first saw on the Rachael Ray cooking show. So easy to use and great value.

It sits over the bowls great but cheddar which is soft just squishes. Hard cheese only but great quality.

I’ve watched Rachael use this many many times, so I just had to try it. It’s a pleasure to use. It’s very sharp, and makes the job whether grating cheese, ginger or slicing garlic. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s quality.
