Lonely Planet Trans-Siberian Railway (Travel Guide)

Tons of useful info. Easy to use. Well organized.

This guide book answered the questions I had about travel on the Trans Siberian Railway & what to see at the various stops.

I don't understand why it got such good reviews. It is the most disorganized guide book I've ever encountered, with information repetitive and all over the place. I had wanted a guide that would have given me information about my whereabouts as the train passed through.I didn't get that.

I am reading a libary copy and will purchase one shortly. I really enjoy the info on this area previously mysterious and murky for myself. It has been crucial in planning my trip to Mongolia, Lake Baikal, and transit on the railways all the way back to Moscow.

I generally like Lonely Planet books - but this was not up to their usual standard.there was very little information on any of the places that we visited - a bit of a waste of space luggage wise. We are intending to go back, but will look for a better guide book

This book isn’t a a true reflection of the reality of the trip or journey. This is a fantasy and a romantic view of what it’s really like.

E' scritta in un inglese comprensibile anche a chi non conosce a fondo la lingua anglosassone, quindi è accesibile anche a chi ha una conoscenza scolastica della lingua. La guida in sè è ben organizzata e copre tutte le tratte della transiberiana e della transmongolica con schemi esplicativi delle città che attraversa, e utili consigli per affrontare il viaggio. Chiare ed interessanti le descrizioni delle città, ricche di utilissime mappe per spostarsi. Alla fine una serie di consigli utili su aspetti turistici e di utilità generica. Acquisto consigliato.

Ich bin bin bisher sehr zufrieden damit. Vom Aufbau her ein typischer Lonely Planet Reiseführer. Die Struktur kann man mögen oder auch eben nicht - ich finde sie sehr praktisch und übersichtlich. Über fast alle Halte sind einige Informationen nachzulesen, für alle größeren oder interessanteren Städte/Dörfer auch die Üblichen Freizeit/Übernachtungs/Essensempfehlungen. Dazu wichtige allgemeine Infos zur transsibirischen Eisenbahn.
