This definitely works for me when needing to wash my hair and showering while having a trach. It last a while too.

Being new to the stoma world, showers and washing hair was a bit scary. This takes a bit of practice to get it on without any gaps on either side (we use two people) but it helps make showers a pleasant experience again. Made well and seems to be holding up to daily use.

This would be an excellent collar to make showering easier and safer for people with a tracheostomy if it came in different widths. Unfortunately I had to return it because my neck isn’t long enough to accommodate it.

Purchased for family member. Water got into the area that was to protect trach - which made her choke. Not good when you are not able to call out for help. Had to return.

It didn’t fit me. It dug in and hurt. Guess my neck was too small.

My husband was successful using this device. As a new laryngectomee, it was a relief to take a shower and feel protected from having water go into his stoma. He did use the Atos blue shower shield attached to the Atos lary tube they gave him at the hospital along with this shield to be safe. Those two combined provided peace of mind.

My husband had a very bad stroke last Aug. and has a peg tube and trach. We had to use foam shampoo on his hair for 11 months , after getting this to put around his trach he is able to sit in the shower and bathe himself! A+ Great Product! Thank you! It’s a little pricey but it’s definitely worth it!

I have a stoma due to laryngeal cancer. This is the only unit that allows me to shower without worrying about water getting down my stoma.
