Great little gadget
I bought this to bodge a working "smarter" car stereo as mine has mostly broken and it has worked perfectly for what I need and is much cheaper as a solution. The echo auto is small enough to be unobtrusive but the microphone hasn't had any issues picking my voice up even when driving with the windows down. Really quick set up too and feels like it'll last Sound quality would depend how you're connecting to your speakers, I use an Aux into an FM transmitter so my sound quality has taken a hit but I imagine connecting via Bluetooth or Aux to your car directly if possible would provide great sound. The speaker module on the Echo itself is only there as a backup while setting up I think and as far as I can tell there's no way to use that as the primary output, but it's tiny and you probably wouldn't want to anyway.

Much better than Gen 1
I have the Gen 1 and although it was OK I really ended up never using it as the microphone didn't pick up my voice that well. This Gen 2 is so much better, the sticky mount actually sticks to my 2002 Toyota Dashboard very securely and it looks like it will never fall off (time will tell). The microphone is way better on this Gen 2 and it connects to my phone all the time (whereas Gen 1 struggled sometimes). Its really excellent and ended up buying a second one for my campervan

Alexa Gets Wheels
I got a refurbished model as it was half the price of a new one. On the whole I'm impressed. It was easy to set up and is unobtrusive on the dashboard. My only issues are there is a lag between speaking and the unit picking it up and it doesn't recognise the names of some people in my phone. Apart from that my biggest issue is remembering the names of the multitude of playlists I've created. Recommended

Great bit of kit
As I needed an unobtainable code to connect my phone to my second hand car to take calls and play my music I saw this as a refurbished device at a very reduced price. It’s easy to set up and works perfectly. My only gripe is the sticky pads that hold the cable clips don’t stay fixed, an easy fix is to get some better pads.

Works great
I bought this for use in my camper van as the radio is not very good. It works better than I expected giving me access to DAB radio stations which are also on the WEB which I could not get direct on the radio. I also use it for Amazon music. If you have an old radio with a USB port then this is the item to get.

Data usage
Nice to have Alexa in the car but it does eat mobile data.
