Smelly and so warm
As others have stated, these blankets do not smell nice when you open them. I imagine it is some sort of lubricant used in the machines used to create them, but that is just a guess. Overall, that didn't bother me much because it airs out well enough and the blanket is great quality, though I haven't had it long enough to truly test the shedding/hold up to washing. Yes, it's stiff and a bit scratchy - it's pure wool! It's also SO warm and not bulky. If you like wool blankets, you'll like this. If using on your bed, just put a sheet between the blanket and your skin. Kind of wish they had additional colors on offer.

It’s thick, warm, wool. Nicely made and heavy
It’s thick, reasonably smooth, and “the smell” from other reviews goes away quickly. First day I got it the smell was present so I aired the blanket out for most of the day (draped over a couple,e of chairs) and now it smells like wool. I have it between a sheet and a blanket to add warmth to my side of a king bed and it does that very well.

King size is great folded in half.
Great product. We plan to invest in more of them. Color was as advertised as was the size and designs on the edges. It was certainly warm enough, and large enough to use folded in half, doubling the insulation and warmth. It is good weight for its size. I like the charcoal color. It is rustic yet forgiving. Good buy. Says 100% virgin wool on tag. Made in India.

A Soft blanket
Good product, you can feel it's virgin wool by it's softness. It smells a bit, but i know it will go away after a while. It is thinner then my other wool blanket which is not a virgin wool.

Buy it and get ready
Light but keeps me warm. Size is great! Not a thick blanket but it doesn’t need to be. It’s dense but not weighted. I didn’t realize how good it was until our first snow storm - I didn’t wake up in the middle of the night looking for my down comforter. Sheds. I haven’t washed it though I was dying to because it STINKS. Like an old garage that only does oil changes but I have the wrong washing machine I laid it out for two days and it still stank. I spritzed the whole thing with lavender water to mask or break up the smell it still stank. I covered it with a duvet. I would like another in the light grey color but the stink and lack of availability say I need to shop around

Excellent quality 100% wool blanket
This 100% virgin wool blanket is excellent! It is much softer than I was expecting and quite hefty. I bought a queen sized blanket for my king sized bed and it fits nicely with enough over hang (about 5-6 inches on each side) to cover me well but without hanging below my duvet (see photos). I did a lot of research on wool blankets and am so happy I decided to purchase this one. Some reviewers mentioned an odor with their blanket. I did not experience that. Mine had a very slight smell that dissipated after about 12 hours of airing out. (I am sensitive to smells and get headaches from smells easily and had NO problem with this blanket.) If you are looking for a well made, warm, soft, wool blanket at an affordable price, you’ve found it!

Nice and warm
Very warm and cozy. Only complaint is when it first arrived there was an interesting smell from perhaps the wool washing, not sure, but it went away in a day or two so might have just been the packaging.

I purchased 4 variants, here are my thoughts
I purchased 4 of these blankets. Two kings in charcoal and green, two fulls in charcoal and green. The king size blankets need to be washed. They are thinner and I don't believe they are actually virgin wool, they give you that scratchy feeling when you use them straight out of the bag. I couldn't sleep with one until after I washed it. Once washed, it fuzzed up and is a lot more comfortable. Still not as soft as the full sized ones. The full size blankets are very soft and noticeably thicker right out of the bag. I has no issues using these as a blanket. I think this size is the best bang for your buck unless you need a thinner but larger king. I washed both of my kings with a wool specific detergent in my washer on delicate, with a medium soil level. Then I put them in my dryer on 'air fluff' (it doesn't use any heat) for 20 minutes each to remove the fuzzies and shedding that the two blankets had. This is what makes me think they weren't pre-washed because there was a lot of loose material that came off, and the washer was absolutely filled with whatever dye they used. I couldn't see in the water past 2 inches. After the 20 minutes in the dryer, I laid them flat on top of a surface to dry. One I put on my bed after I covered it in towels so my sheets didn't get damp, and the other I hung on top of a door and flipped it every few hours. The one on the bed dried in about 8 hours and the one on the door took a bit longer at 24 hours since it was folded in half and had to be flipped a few times. The black color shows pet hair a lot more than the green. I have black and white dogs, so their white hairs show up on the wool blanket. Not that I have an issue with this, they are adding more wool basically haha. Something to keep in mind for color choices. Overall for the money decent quality. I wish the king size blankets were as soft and thick as the full sized ones, and I am very reluctant to believe their claims that the King sized variant is 'virgin' wool because of how scratchy it is.

I was worried about the smell based on other reviews, but this smells mostly like wool and a little bit like a detergent, lemon perhaps. On a king size bed (13"+boxspring), it is a generous size, comes down to the rails at side. Corners are radiused. Edges are stitched in black with a decorative white stitch trim overtop. I would say it's a medium or standard thickness, but dense. The wool is relatively (relative to other wools that is) soft for the style, but it's not a fluffy brushed sort of affair. Best as an overblanket, not right up against the skin. No shedding noticed. It is indeed a bit breathable. Using as a layer with rayon/eucalytpus sheets + [ quilt, or down duvet ]. Does a good job at providing warmth without sweatyness. It's really quite nice for the price.

Excelente precio.

You warm up quite fast when using this, especially for how thin it is. Just a tiny bit itchy but that's wool, add a covering if you want the warmth but no itchiness
