Quality is fine for a light weight little pencil box that can be decorated.

I bought this pair of boxes to use as a starting point for creating holders for controllers on my split king adjustable bed. The boxes are well made, but unfinished. I modified them easily to become mounted holders attached to my bed headboard. When I stained them, I found that the glue lines had areas where glue had sealed the exposed wood and it didn't take the stain there. This makes it difficult to do a good job when finishing the boxes. If they hadn't had this issue I would have given a higher rating. Nice boxes for storing things if you don't plan to finish them.
