Induction Base Cast Iron Pan, Black, 1 Piece, 10.25 Inches

This was my 5th Cast Iron item and 2nd from Lodge's. Size was exactly similar to Lodge's Cast Iron 10.25 inch Skillet.Lodge's cast iron are well crafted, heavy, uniform, blacker and thicker. As much as I liked this Pan I had to return it because of following reason -1. No brand packaging, there is no sticker, pamphlet, instructions etc from Lodge to say its genuine. Although there is Lodge branding on back and handle but that's not satisfying enough for me. How would you feel if you know you are paying double-triple of its original value and still getting a brand new item delivered in a Amazon brown box with no labeling of any kind.2. Either the pre-seasoning has worn off and its very old stock or it has been used before, not sure exactly which one is true but the black shiny layer is not uniform. You can see in pic where I took with flash, The black round spot in center.I can do seasoning again and this may get corrected but then again I paid full for a new item, why should I settle for something less.So, no doubt about quality and durability of Lodge's Cast Iron products and if they are delivered in original packaging, with no quality issues then I am more than happy to accept and be satisfied.

The tags shows that it's shipped or imported from USA directly and it certainly looks like one. But I feel that if you scrum hard it may scrub off the black pre-treated material on it. Mine came with a lil seen already scrapped off. But it's tiny. Since it's Iron, presence of water may make it look rusty Color presence which is natural and one just need to clean it. Over all cooking food in it feels great and hope to use it for a longer period.Update: it's almost 4 months now and this skillet is now what I use almost every day. Maybe the use constantly made this skillet well treated and I think thus wud be a lasting utility for us. This is now jst like the once when we used in US. I would recommend it now for sure. Get the bigger size for more purposes. It may be bit heavy but it does good when it comes to cooking.

Wow this skillet is not only huge but very well made, rugged and good for cooking large quantity of food. Yet to cook in it but again it's a Lodge product and I'm not complaining. Completed seasoning the skillet and the transformation is just amazing have attached the before and after pics.Will update more as I use and experience this beauty. Recently baked a chicken with Veggies which was just too delicious. Love this Monster Skillet.

I’ve never used a lodge cast iron so I’m not sure of the original packaging. Attaching pics of how I received it. I have so many cast irons which I’ve bought locally, but the reason I wanted a lodge is for the design. It’s so elegant. To just bake and serve directly is my favourite. And THAT is where this brand stands apart from others. Seasoning was perfect but I do know that it takes a lot of patience and time until you can make it fully nonstick. The oven technique is what I do every once in a while for my cast irons. I don’t use soap to wash my cast iron unless if it’s rusted. So after each time I cook, I wash them with plain water and a nylon scrub. Wipe it down and leave it to air dry. I don’t particularly do the heat it on the stove method (unless if it’s winters). Also, try not to leave them for too long on the stove because cast iron breaks. Many don’t know this. They react to thermal shock. Fixable issue but it is also a preventable issue.This product is very pricey because obviously it’s an American brand and imported. But unfortunately we don’t have a local brand that gives us these designs, with the finish a lodge can. Even if you find a local brand, I can assure you, the finish is pathetic. Hoping that someday, someone will ensure that we can make this locally at half the cost and a finish as good as this one’s. Please check out the pictures I’ve taken after cooking pasta and baking it on the same pan. It is easy to clean and it is very heavy as a cast iron should be. Plus, it works PERFECTLY on induction. Capacity is 2 litres but I would recommend 1.5 so that what you make doesn’t spill. In the photos, I’ve made a baked pasta with 2 cups of pasta and almost half kg of mixed vegetables and 3 cups of white sauce. Hope this helps.

This was my 1st cast iron pan, i had ever used. Though, bit expensive, but value for money, while when considering health aspects. I want to replace all my non-stick utensils. And this was my 1st product and expecting one more khadai on the way.About the product, it is very huge, heavy and preseasoned. Still before using it first time, seasoned it once again. I also viewed many videos about how to do seasoning and maintaining these stuffs on youtube. By following those, we can maintain these for lifetime, durable and more healthier.Thank you Amazon and lodge for this wonderful product and i definitely recommend this product🙂

Quality product.Nicely seasoned.Correct size i.e. 12"Easy to use very heavy though.And Product is more expensive than other brands. Almost triple the price.ButMrp on the product price tag and mrp on the app are different. Aap MRP is higher than actual price. This is serious issue.This kind of misleading information from Amazon not acceptable.

Its really superb .even though its costly, worthy for the money which we pay.actually what I ordered is which is with two small handles and what I got is with 0ne long handle and one small handle

So I did A LOT of research...and always kept coming back to Lodge. I watched videos, read reviews, read comparisons. I did it all. Over and over again the path led to Lodge. I, myself, have never owned a cast iron skillet. Those were for our parents to own, who seasoned them perfectly over generations. I was terrified of cast iron and their price. But Lodge definitely did not disappoint. It’s an amazing price and an amazing pan. Right out of the box it was seasoned beautifully, a rich black sheen that seemed to be consistent and even. I chose to do an additional seasoning before it’s first use, so I cranked my oven to 450 degrees, lightly oiled it with grape seed oil (cause that’s what I had) and put it in the over upside down (so excess oil can drip out) for 1 full hour. My husband used it the next morning for his eggs (over easy) and they didn’t stick...like at all!!! Then for supper I did steaks then sautéd spinach in the left over butter and garlic from the steak. OMG. Nothing stuck, the crust on the steak was absolutely beautiful. I can’t believe it took me this long to get my first grown up cast iron pan! But I’m so glad I started with Lodge - you won’t be disappointed. I have a feeling there will be more in my future...Also, for those who aren’t novice home chefs, do a little research, there is a tiny learning curve (heat, smoke point etc.) You won’t regret your choice :)

Absolutely brilliant pan. Have been (and still am) using a cheaper cast iron pan. This one by comparison was an awful lot easier to get started with as its pre-coated, unlike the cheaper one. Gets tremendously hot after just a few minutes on a medium flame and holds that heat very well. I'm still using the cheaper one too (it's deeper) for some dishes because because its brilliantly non-stick after years of use......but theres no comparison. It feels like it'll last forever and definitely makes cooking a joy. Buy one-you won't regret it!

Well made good price and very very useful. Use on the hob oven and it’s looks good on the table.It never sticks. I will look out for more items from Lodge Cast Iron Cookware.

Great quality skillet. Robust stove-top & oven proof cooking pan. Ours gets much use and cleans up like new each time.
