Unlike The Indian Philosophy by Radhakrishnan, this volume deals with all the philosophical doctrines in nutshell but very very objectively. Author has done a brilliant job but his dislike towards the Sanatan dharm is quite evident. It's a great treatise spread over about 640 pages besides index, glosseries etc. The language of the book is easy to comprehend. Very direct and down to earth. The objectivity with which the author has dealt with the chosen subjects is breathtaking. It may appear to some that the author has empathy with some sects and lack of it towards some others but it seems that the author tried his level best to keep this partiality to the minimum.The book is worth keeping in your collection. It's a handbook, ready reckoner like the dictionary of medicine if I have the liberty to say so.The quality of paper and printing is good in the paperback edition. The binding is very soft. If possible one should go for It's hard bound edition if it is available and is within the reach of the reader.

यह किताब हिंदी भाषा मे दर्शन पर लिखी गई उत्कृष्ट कृतियों में से एक हैं । राहुल सांकृत्यायन ने बहुत ही बारीकी से इस किताब में विश्व का दर्शन प्रस्तुत किया हैं । कुछ पाठकों की किताब की भाषा विचलित कर सकती हैं क्योंकि राहुल जी ने 1960 के दशक में इस पुस्तक को लिखा था और तब की भाषा और अब की भाषा मे काफी अंतर आ चुका हैं अतः कुछ भाषाई कठिनाई अवश्य हो सकती हैं।

I already had the book and enjoyed a lot reading it. A friend of mine borrowed it from me and never returned. So I am purchasing again.
