My experience has been brilliant.
Because I'm clumsy, I really prefer low cost, high spec solutions, and I don't seem to have had the problems some have experiences below at all. My overall experience has been great in the last 5 months - and so I hope to balance some of the other reviews a little for anyone looking for a solid budget solution. I've had a number of budget devices over the last 5 years and this is one of the best so far. Of course, because of this fact, I'm probably coming at this from not experiencing that latest flag-ships - so I'm probably suffering some kind of budget bias now. - Battery life has lasted 3 days without charge for light use - 2 days of regular/normal use, a good long day with heavy use. - It charges fast with the adaptor and cable included - Boots really fast - Headphone jack! - The screen is big and clear and bright and the notch is minimal, no scratches yet despite dropping is several times. - Fast enough to never even consider if it's fast for most things I do (I don't game btw), but navigate a lot, browsing whilst split screening YouTube etc.. - Included case - which is showing no wear at all in 5 months (great grip too) - 3 updates in the last few months of firmware, issues fixed and improvements made - Took my 128Gb micro SD/TF card no issue - 128Gb of internal memory is a ton of space without the card. - No issues for using 3rd party launchers for me. Been using Nova since day 1. - No issues with light leakage for me - although the screen is far too bright even on the lowest setting at night. I have installed other apps to dim it further. - Not experienced any issues with edges of the touch screen, but then maybe I don't use the edges enough on most apps I use? - The fingerprint reader has been solid, fast and works fine for me. Face unlock works seamlessly though so I only use it occasionally - can't say either has ever caused any issues. - Speaker is loud - in fact too loud and occasionally I've had to put a finger over the bottom speaker grill as even at the lowest setting it's too loud. - Doesn't get hot like some budget phones I've had (but maybe I'm not working it hard enough). - The camera is more than adequate for most day to day use. Obviously no high-end sensor, but we've come a long way in budget phones. Good, clear focus on objects and for most actual useful stuff like documents, receipts, memory aids - it's more than fine. There was a minor issue with the touch screen freezing occasionally which was solved easily by power on/off in a second or 2. Latest updates have fixed this now, so far. Also, I think the GPS DOES show the direction facing the wrong way - hopefully this will be fixed - but I've got used to it. I'm impressed that I've had 3 updates in the last few months, something I've not had with other budget offerings from Elephone. I do love having a brilliantly capable phone without being precious about breaking/losing it all the time. If I lost it tomorrow, I'd definitely get another immediately.

Unicorn phone
Downgraded from an S10+ to save money. I have to say, this is the best cheapest phone I've ever bought and I change phones every few months. Software has been Rock solid and is as near as makes no difference stock Android, battery life is incredible, screen quality is excellent, build quality is rugged and therefore solid, camera is acceptable, design is nice, all notifications have come through like clockwork and performance is acceptable. Buy it even as a backup phone, you won't regret it.

Unfortunately a Faulty phone, and a help desk unhelpful
Bought this phone for £179.99. It is a very good phone and very fastrong. Unfortunately, after 4 weeks, my phone seized to work. I broughtthink my phone into a phone shop and they advised me that the power connector within the phone is faulty and and thereforesisting when it's connected to a uabout type c charger, it won't power on. Approximately 3 weeks ago, I wrote to the help desk, but no response or no help. In fairness, after spending 180£ on something, that it would work in sound condition. I would accept responsibility if my phone had dropped, but it has not. Now I'm left with a phone that doesn't work and and a cheap second hand one that does. What do I do now?

A Bargain for the Price
This is an Amazing phone for the price. I been using it for 2 weeks now. I got mine when their was a limited sale for £153. In the last 18 months i have used a Oneplus 3, oneplus 5, Iphone 8 and a Huawei P20 and this is phone is as good as those top brand. Now of course its not better than but its 4 times cheaper than those top brands. Battery Life: Amazing i mostly browse social media and A lot of WhatsApp video calls and i got 8 hours of video call. Their is no phone that can comes close to that. Any other day to day task and you can easily get 10 hours screen on time. Performance: very reasonable i don't play High demanding graphics games so I can't tell but So far i haven't seen a single lag. It performs really well in everyday to day task Display: For an LCD its not bad at all, its decent, it's pretty bright you can easily use it in sunlight its just AMOLED is better in every way. Camera: Now here is where they have to compromise a little bit. The camera is mediocre at best but its not bad in anyway but if you want a phone with great camera you have to pay 6-7 times more. I think anyone who knows how to take pictures, understand photography they can make good use of this camera. Cons: Of course for a phone that price you have to expect a few annoying thing like. No front LED lights, phone gets quite hot if charge n use at the same time, speaker is loud but no bass, finger print won't recognise you're finger 5 out 10 times, widgets not that great, slide navigation are really annoying to use. To be fair those things are not a deal breaker at all, you may not even notice them anyway. The biggest problem by far are lack of updates. The last security patch was in January and we are in may now. For a small phone manufacturer i completely understand that but you UMIDIGI are releasing new phones everything month. Instead you could have updated your previous phone lineup. That's the reason i gave a 4 star instead of 5. Other than that this phone is Amazing, i can easily use this for a year or more. If you want a great Battery life phone with flagship performance look no further than UMIDIGI F1 and F1 PLAY

Mid range performance at budget price - great vfm
Really pleased with this phone. There's no bloatware, performance is fairly snappy, the display is good and the battery is great. The camera is so-so but good for the price range. It's also a little on the thick and heavy side but - with a 5000+ mAh battery - that's understandable and doesn't bother me. The case feels cheap but I didn't expect there to be one included and I'll buy a nicer one separately. In general, it looks, feels and performs like a mid-range phone but at about half the price you'd expect to pay for one. Great value for money.

We've probably owned close to twenty Umidigi devices at this point. The entire family uses them and we have since switching over from Asus Zenfones five or six years ago. I liked the Zenfones enough, and I had been using them for years, but those early Umidigi devices were immediate upgrades in most areas when you compared Apples to Apples (phones selling in the same price range). I actually just reviewed a G3 model about a month ago that I thought I'd be sticking with for a while but my wife, let's just call her The Agent of Chaos, decided she wanted to switch phone providers when her Mint Mobile contract was up. She switched over to Visible (Verizon) and it turns out her A15C was not working with their service. She works from home part of the week and forwards her work calls to her personal phone when she's doing so, so we had to come up with a solution pretty quick. Whereas I can get by fine with a decent budget phone like the G3, my wife needs some beefy hardware to support the 7 bazillion apps she keeps running all the time. We were looking to see what Umidigi had on offer recently and we saw this not-so-little beasty. This was their flagship model in late 2022 and apparently they have re-released it recently at a lower price point. That was a very competitive price for Mediatek's then flagship SoC, the Dimensity 900, and this re-released version may be the lowest price you can find a phone with that chipset at. It is very fast and capable, and should perform just about as well or better than most phones that cost less than four figures. So back to the whole Verizon thing for a minute. I, possibly mistakenly, though the reason her A15C wasn't working on Verizon was because Verizon hadn't validated the Unisec chipset in use within that phone for their network. However, I know there are Dimensity 900 phones that work on Verizon, and all of our older Umidigi phones were working on Verizon, so I thought this phone would work with them (despite the description stating otherwise--yeah, I'm not a bright guy). Well, long story short, it didn't. So we ordered yet another phone (the A15T, I'll be reviewing that one in the next couple of days too) and I ended up inheriting this guy. This is the fastest phone I've ever used. It's almost a waste, since I pretty much just use my phone for phone stuff, with the occasional picture and video capture. It's an octa-core running at 2.4ghz with a very capable 3D accelerator. I'm sure it'd be fantastic at whatever the latest fancy Android games are. If I game I prefer to do so on PC. This thing has such a big screen though I may dig out the expanding controller I bought for my daughter years ago and throw some retro games on it for occasional portable gaming. For regular phone use it's nice for apps to instantly open and switch and not have to worry about the number of apps I'm leaving open (due to the 12GB of RAM). The speed has a downside (for me). Umidigi's phones always have pretty great batteries. Their Power 3 from 2019 is probably my favorite smart phone of all time. I could go 4 days of normal use between charges for the first couple of years on that thing. This one comes with one of their pretty standard 5150mah batteries that a lot of their other models have. I can usually get two full days between charges on those models, because they have slower chipsets and/or less cores. I think I'm only getting a little over a day on this, but it's actually been hard to gauge as I've been writing a lot of Amazon reviews recently and I have to plug the phone into the computer to pull the pictures off of it and it always charges up some when I do. I may be getting two days, absolute tops. The good news is that, with the included charger, it charges up fully in about two and a half hours. It seems happy to charge from anything it's plugged in to though, and even charges pretty quickly from a PC USB port. Likewise, Umidigi includes very high quality charger bricks and cables with their phones. We use them all over our house for a variety of gadgets and we've never had one fail nor anything bad happen to said gadgets. The fingerprint sensor works quite well. I'd say 90% of the time it reads my print first try. I don't use the face recognition feature but I understand that is the go-to for most people nowadays, so I briefly enabled it and it seemed to work well. It wouldn't unlock for my dog. Call quality is the best I've ever experienced on an Umidigi. Usually they're 'fine', but this thing provides loud and clear volume to both me and the person on the other end. However, when I have others on speakerphone they usually complain about an echo, so the noise cancellation possibly wasn't fine tuned for speakerphone use. Bluetooth volume is also adequate, which one might expect, but it was actually a bit muted on the G3 so it's nice to be back to normalcy in that regard. The Bluetooth radio seems to send quite a strong signal, another big difference from the G3. There's a point during one of my rounds at my job where I will leave my phone on a box so that it continues receiving cell signal and playing the stream I'm listening to, and I get in an elevator and go down about 40' into a concrete structure to do some equipment checks. This thing maintains the Bluetooth connection for that entire time. The GPS has been working flawlessly. It has an internal compass which is nice as that is sometimes missing on Mediatek phones. Like all Umidigi devices, it still has the 3.5mm headphone out jack. It has dual SIM slots and can take an SD Card for storage expansion. It does NOT contain an NFC chip. An interesting choice for a brand flagship device, especially since a lot of their more budget focused models have NFC functionality. Umidigi has never excelled with their cameras. Like call quality, they're 'fine' generally. If you have good lighting and you're close to the subject(s) of your photo or video you can usually get pretty decent results. This continues with this model, BUT there are steps in the right direction here. There's an 'AI' option, which I find cheesy (why not just call it auto focus or auto filter or . . . something) that unfortunately you have to turn on every time you enter the camera app that can help improve the camera's capabilities in certain situations. There's also a very functional macro lens that you can switch over too which is an absolute life saver if you're fed up with the continuously shrinking text on product instruction manuals and credit card contracts. The biggest single improvement from past Umidigi cameras to this one is the low light capability. I've attached a video that I didn't really intend to use as review material as I was just trying to take a video of some cool cloud lightning, but keep in mind that that video was shot after sundown. Everything around me was gray and colorless already, and you can see the camera was able to capture pretty amazing light and color. It's not a perfected technology as there was a lot of graininess still, but it's an impressive step in the right direction. I'm still on a Mint Mobile account and usually I'm prioritized as a third class citizen on T-Mobile's network. So usually I'm on a 4G tower and getting 25mbps or so. I did manage to run a test while there was no network congestion and I was on a 5G tower and it started at 450mbps and ended around 300mbps, so there's no problem with 4g or 5g bands on T-Mobile. From a hardware perspective, this phone should work fine on AT&T's network as well, but I think they're bad about only allowing the major models from the big brands on their network if it's not a phone they sell themselves, so check before ordering. I've learned some things about Verizon's network tinkering with my wife's new A15T and I still think there might be a chance this phone could work (because it _should_ work) on their network. I'll test that some more when I have time and if I succeed I'll update the review with the steps I had to take to get it working. Like other Umidigi phones this one comes with Duraspeed and Z-Ram (memory expansion). Both are truly useful add-ins but they aren't really all that important on a phone with 12GB of RAM so I won't make my already overly long review longer with explaining their functionality. The only problem I've had with this phone is that the touchscreen is extremely sensitive. I have calloused hands and sometimes worry about phones registering touches through the callouses. One definitely doesn't have to worry about that with this thing. Any little fleck of dust on the screen will register as a touch. I'm in the habit now of wiping down the screen before unlocking it to prevent phantom touches. If I follow this routine, it's fine. This might just be my particular phone, but I think it might be a model-wide issue because it was way worse before I installed the system update from Umidigi after first setting the phone up. The screen itself is big and bright and beautiful. Behind their usual phenomenal battery performance, I'd say the screens Umidigi uses are their second best feature. They're always pretty great. This one is 2460x1080 and can be ran at either 90hz or 60hz refresh rates. There's no problem using it in broad daylight and it dims to a pleasant level inside at night. It's weird having many times the power of all of the supercomputers on the planet in the 1960s in my pocket, yet strangely satisfying. Easy five stars for this phone for providing premium performance at a very reasonable mid-range price.

Usavo, e sono tornato ad usare, un UMIDIGI A 7 pro, un ottimo cellulare, quindi viste le caratteristiche di questo l'ho acquistato sicuro di fare un ottimi affare. Mal me ne incolse!! Poi tante altre cose....insomma l'ho reso e vi sconsiglio l'acquisto.

I want to start by saying I was very skeptical about buying this phone because I have never heard of UMIDIGI. Lets face it, $200 is $200. To me that is still a lot of money to take a risk on a brand I have never heard of. Within the last year I have had a Galaxy S8, Xiaomi MI A2 Lite, and a Motorola G6 Play(for comparison). Below are the reasons why I got rid of those phones and chose this phone... Phone must have: 1. Large battery with good battery life (sorry Galaxy S8) 2. All LTE bands for US (Sorry Xiaomi I need band 17) 3. A decent processor (Sorry G6 Play....so SLOW) 4. NFC 5. 1080p (not necessary but definitely a plus) 6. Decent camera I find myself drawn to the phones India and China get because they are practical. Midrange specs with good battery life and decent camera, I don't need a flagship phone. When I used GSM Arena's phone finder and put the specs in I was looking for(including LTE bands), this was the only phone that kept coming up that was in my price range. So I decided to take a chance on the F1 since it had all the things I felt were important in a phone. I have been very pleased with the phone so far(3 weeks of use now)! There are a fewsmall problems, I'm not sure if these are related to UMIDIGI software or Android Pie, since this is my first phone with Pie. The main issue I have is some of my home automation like Ring and August don't receive notifications unless I am already in the app. I don't get notified when somebody rings the door bell or my August lock doesn't auto unlock(working with August on that). There again, I don't know if that is an issue with Android Pie or UMIDIGI. I don't get notificatons for my Messenger app either. I have made sure notifications were turned on for those apps and battery optimization was turned off. I get all the notifications for phone calls and texts which is most important to me. The battery life has been really good! That might be why I don't get my notifications, but its been worth it. I can typically go 2 days without charging. I attached pics of some of the battery usage. Note last charge time and screen on time. Camera is decent, not as good as my S8 but wasn't expecting it to be. Sometimes I have to take a picture several times in order to get a good one. The picture of my dog was taken in complete darkness, it took 3 tries to get that one. The picture of my shoes was with the Bokeh effect turned all the way up. So if you don't mind taken a few pics in order to get the good one, then this camer will work for you. There has been 2 software updates so far, one when I first got the phone and one within the last couple of weeks. The latter fixed a bug with deleting pictures, the trash label was partially missing. Now with that update there is a bug where changing to multiple windows and clearing them individually the window shakes for a few seconds. Nothing big but I hope UMIDIGI will come out with a software update to fix that too. I think if UMIDIGI stays on top of their software updates they could be the next Xiaomi. Software was really my main concern about buying this phone. It would be REALLY NICE to see UMIDGI started using Android One platform. I tried to touch on some of the things that weren't out there. If you want to know about the screen, finger print reader, sound etc.... I think that has been covered well enough with other reviews.... UPDATE: There was another update and it fixed the window shaking problem I had. Pretty impressed that they have been updating the phone to fix minor bugs. Keep it up UMIDIGI! Would like to see a security patch update though... UPDATE 2: At work I have noticed that my phone calls have been less than stellar. When making a call I put it on speaker phone and watched the screen and noticed that it will switch from 4G to 3G when making calls. I work at a camp and it is isolated, we have 4G towers at camp so we have really good 4G signal but we have almost no 3G. Needless to say this has been a problem, not having a signal for phone calls, and when I do they have been choppy. I don't think this is an issue with UMIDIGI but with Cricket/ATT. They don't recognize unlocked phones for VoLTE. I talked to their technical support to no avail. Just to make sure I checked my unlocked Moto G6 Play and it does the exact same thing. Now this was never a problem at my house where we get a really good 4G and 3G signal. This has been enough of a nuisance at my work that I had to get a new phone. Since it had to be a Cricket/ATT branded phone in order to get VoLTE I picked up the Motorola G7 Supra since battery life is the most important thing for me. I have also noticed some connectivity issues with Bluetooth headphones. It losses volume for a split second and then comes back on. This might happen every 5 minutes or so. For people complaining about short battery life they must have a rogue app or something. I have never had less than 40% battery life left at the end of the day, and that was using my phone a lot. All that being said I still really like the phone. It looks like my son will be upgrading to an F1.
