Pico 4 Ultra VR Headset: A Capable All-Rounder with Room for Improvement
Pico 4 Ultra VR Headset: A Capable All-Rounder with Room for Improvement As an avid VR enthusiast, I was excited to get my hands on the Pico 4 Ultra. After spending some quality time with it, here's my take: Pros: Easy Setup & Performance: The headset was a breeze to set up, and its 12GB RAM delivers great performance and multitasking capabilities. Clear Visuals: The pancake lenses provide clear, edge-to-edge vision, and the display, while LCD, offers good resolution with minimal screen door effect. Impressive Mixed Reality: The mixed reality passthrough is a significant upgrade, offering excellent tracking and room recognition, making for immersive experiences. Seamless PCVR Streaming: Pico Connect makes PCVR streaming straightforward, providing good quality even wirelessly. Accurate Full-Body Tracking: The optional motion trackers are incredibly easy to set up and deliver accurate full-body tracking, a huge plus for social VR. Cons: Facial Interface Discomfort: The biggest drawback for me was the facial interface, which caused discomfort and light leakage due to its shape. Subpar Hand Tracking: While present, the hand tracking lacked accuracy and responsiveness, with noticeable latency. Smaller App Store: The app store, while growing, is still not as robust as some competitors. Overall, the Pico 4 Ultra is a strong contender, especially for its mixed reality capabilities and effortless full-body tracking. If the facial interface fits you well, and you're looking for a solid all-around VR experience, it's definitely worth considering, especially with the pre-order bundle. However, be mindful of the less-than-stellar hand tracking and the comparatively smaller app library.

Very nice
Very good for pc vr, battery lasts longer than quest 3 and its more comfortable with a better fov and picture. There is slight glare on the lenses if you have the brightness turned up or have the vr on at the wrong angle and it’s probably not the go to unit for standalone games or if you already have a meta library full. I’m very impressed with how much nicer and faster this is than the quest 3 for steam / vd pcvr. Pass through is about the same as quest 3 and much nicer than the original Pico 4. Got this as a used like new unit (box opened return) and no issues.

Good headset, terrible microphone.
An excellent headset with a much simpler connection process to PCVR than the Meta Quest 2, but the microphone leaves a lot to be desired. I have no idea what incompetence led to the microphone being placed on the front of the headset instead of the side. It’s constantly picking up harsh wind sounds from p and b words and when you turn the noise reduction on it greatly reduces the quality of the mic. Not to mention the audio from the headset’s speakers get picked up if you’re using it without noise reduction too. Furthermore, there’s a slight delay in the mic when playing PCVR as well. This would be a perfect headset but the microphone really holds it back.

Technically very reliable and capable - never had a crash or slow-down. Some good titles.
Technically seems to be very reliable and capable - never had a crash or slow-down. Also, reasonably comfortable (for a VR headset) and has some great titles. Remember to sign-up to the Pico Store and check every Bank Holiday when they usually give out a number of coupons with varying discounts for apps/games. Be savvy how you spend coupons by buying the mots expensive title first when the max discount coupon is automatically applied, then the next most expensive and so forth.

Excellent
All round great headset, though people with nose bridges may have to use the 'spectacle wearer' fitting otherwise the headset rests painfully on nose bridge, even with straps correctly adjusted

Headset is great, lots of fun. As soon as the USB-C port fails - it's dead.
Had a lot of fun with this, replacing my aging Reverb G2. This has a simple usb-c connector for charging and data. It worked well for about 8 months and then the usb-c port broke because it's quite badly secured. The connector doesn't go all the way in. Over time, the simple weight of the cable is enough to break the socket and then this whole lovely headset is just an expensive brick. The socket for connecting USB-C cables needs to be much stronger. The cable for mine was long, never snagged, not regularly connected/disconnected, used for seated gaming only... and still the socket on the headset failed. If you buy one of these, you need a 'sacrifical' usb-c extender, permanently connected to the socket and taped to the side of the headset so it can take the stress away from the headset socket. Pico really didn't think this through. You can use WiFi for data but it's too stuttery, even on a dedicated WiFi 7 hotspot, for PC gaming

Visore pazzesco e divertente.

loses vs the meta quest 3 in the market options, and the finger tracking is a bit behind but the camera quality for AR is exceptional and the comfort is amazing thanks to the weight balance wifi 7 works like a dream for PC VR giving over 2Gbps over the air, would recommend a wifi 7 router in the same room also the fact that you can get FBT with just the ankle straps is very nice to have and are worth the investment depending on use case would buy again for PC VR

Z gier poza Steam testowałem przez gamepass No Man's Sky i MSFS 2024 - pierwsza działała idealnie, a do gamepassowej wersji MSFS2024 musiałem użyć Virtual Desktop, żeby prawidłowo działało.
