Global appeal!!
I bought this lobal knife to add to my collection. I am a Head Chef in a local outlet and I use all fresh local ingredients. I have used a lot of different knives in the past but bought a Global a few years ago and now Global are the only knives I have. They are probably one of the best knives currently available on the market, they keep their edge for longer than any other knife I've ever used. Make sure you sharpen them after you have finished using them, and they really will last forever. I bought this knife because I wanted something that was kind of a middle size, so ideal for cutting grapefruit sized items. Cheers

The Perfect Knife
For any avid cook that likes to have decent tools in the kitchen, this knife is a great one to add to your inventory. Global knives are not cheap but you really do get what you pay for. After struggling to cut things like bacon, I was amazed when this knife slipped through it like butter. It's an absolute joy to use, a great weight and fit in the hand and tackles anything from meat to vegetables with ease. I'd highly recommend a global knife sharpener (or the cheaper equivalent) as it does lose it's edge fairly quickly but the general recommendation for keeping quality knives in tip top condition is to sharpen little and often. I think I will add a chefs knife from this range as well, but for now, this little beauty is doing a fine job and making life in the kitchen much more pleasurable.

Great little knife, edge started to chip
I got this knife as a starter into the Global brand, as it is reasonably priced. The size makes it suited to smaller jobs such as vegtable prep and preparing meat, and it is wicked sharp. I've had it over a year now and it is still one of my go-to knives. I maintain the edge with a combination waterstone and use minosharp rails to get the angle right. One thing I have noticed is that the edge is starting to show very small chips, which I am guessing are down to the re-sharpening method plus the blade being brittle. This is not surprising, as a hard metal (i.e. one suited to making knives) will also be fragile if you don't take care, and even if you do. Overall I would buy another Global, but that's not to say I wouldn't try another brand as well! Next one is likely to be the I O Shen 21cm Chefs knife.

Great Knife, Great Brand
Already had a 20cm version of their knife which is really well balanced, so I bought this about 2 months ago. Best thing about it is the size, because its small its great to be able to take around with me for cooking and cutting, 2 months of use and not had to sharpen it yet and it goes through annoying objects like tomatoes with ease. Would definitely recommend not only this knife but the brand. It may not seem big, but its big enough to do most tasks from cutting & prepping meat, fish, veg to even use on small-medium roasts for carving. Hand grip is also comfortable and well balanced to give a nice amount of feel when being used.

Beautiful little knife
I bought one of these as an addition to my 14cm knives and it's a very usable little knife. Typical Global build quality and sharpness makes this very good to cut meat with, although it's size prohibits you from dealing with larger or much harder root vegetables (best saved for the Global GS5 and Wusthof santoku). For around £40 this knife is a bargain and a great addition to any kitchen.

i'm not sure
It seems ok. I am not sure if it is fake though because the price was so cheap. I have no idea how you can tell if it is or not. I saw a lot of programmes recently that have made me wary that I did buy this online. It might not be a fake but please be aware they exist.

Awesome!
Just purchased this for my wife. We have been using Global knives for 13 years now and I added this one as part of her anniversary present. It is a superb addition! It covers pretty much anything you want to cut whilst cooking. As with all Global's it is razor sharp and looks the business too! It even comes with a matching lapel pin :) I can't fault it!

Arrived as described. Quality just as high as other global knives I’ve owned.

Global knives are wonderful. Beautiful to look at and hold. Pro quality to use. A very useful, high-quality kitchen tool. Keep it sharp and a joy to use with a MinoSharp Ceramic Water Sharpener (as recommended by Global). Warning: Once you get your first Global, you're gonna want a couple more. This is a nice, medium size that is very useful -- and the price is good for a Global. Next you may want a 7" chef's knife, even if you've already got a more traditional chef's knife that's heavier and has a bolster. Using the thin, light Global is a bit different experience.

Ive been using Global knives for the past 3 years. They beat my old henckles knifes (germany) hands down. The blade stays sharper for longer, as well the knife has a great feel and balance to it. The only caution i can say is that to make sure your (professional) knife sharpener is aware that this knife as well as all japanese knives need to be sharpened at a different angle then most traditional knives. I get mine done once a year professionally, and hit up my whet stone for in between quick sharpenings.

This is my second global knife, and I won’t buy any others. I love the weight. They are so sharp and great for cutting all sorts of vegetables, cheese, etc.

By this I mean almost any job. I was already a Global knife enthusiast, and had a Chef's Knife, a Cleaver, and a paring knife (in addition to a bunch of German legacy knives), when I read a review somewhere about this particular knife, and how the reviewer's wife referred to it as her "go-to" knife. So I cratered and ordered one. What a revelation! Perfectly balanced, big enough for most cutting jobs but delicate enough to split and remove the seeds from a small Thai chile (for instance). I echo the wife's appraisal. If you only want two knives, this one and a Chef's Knife are amply sufficient. All those other German knives look out forlornly from the woodblock as this one gets pulled out....again and again.
