After all these years I've finally completed the Pokedex!
This is a fantastic game and a great nostalgic throwback to Pokemon Yellow and after finishing it - I want more!! There is no doubt about it this is Pokemon at it's most simple which is both good and bad. The game is ridiculously easy. Whenever there is a hard bit, it's too easy to find a way around it. Struggling to catch a Pokémon - shake the other controller and use 2 Pokéballs at once to double your chances! The game allows you to do 2 v 1 against any trainer battle which, while great for allowing people to introduce young kids etc to the games, the battles become too easy. Everything about the original Pokemon Yellow, down to checking Pikachu's happiness level whilst walking around is brought over from the original and enhanced massively. When checking Pickahu you can pet and feed him which whilst it seems childish, as a 29 year old - I found myself doing it before asking Pikachu to cut down trees etc just to hear that cute happy squeal! Oh, did I mention I completed the Pokédex? I never managed this on the original but with the help of Pokémon Go on my phone and trading with random people online, I managed to collect the Eevee version exclusives. All of the additions help this game and all have clearly been thought out to refine this game for its intended purpose. Introduce a new generation to Pokémon in the same way that we were back in the 90s. All updated for a modern audience, making it different enough for the original trainers to enjoy.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! (Nintendo Switch)
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! for the Nintendo Switch is a delightful reimagining of the classic Pokémon games with a modern twist. This game is a fantastic choice for both newcomers to the Pokémon world and long-time fans looking for nostalgia with updated graphics and gameplay. The game's visual appeal is undeniable, with vibrant colors and beautifully rendered environments that bring the Kanto region to life in high definition. The attention to detail in the design of Pokémon and the world they inhabit is impressive, making for an immersive experience. One of the standout features of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! is the innovative way it incorporates elements from the mobile game phenomenon Pokémon GO. The catching mechanics are simplified, which might divide opinion among fans. Some may miss the traditional battle system for wild Pokémon encounters, but others will appreciate the new approach and find it refreshing. The game supports two-player simultaneous play, which is a welcome addition, allowing friends and family to join the adventure. This feature enhances the overall enjoyment and adds a layer of cooperative gameplay that was not present in the original games. Compatibility with the Poké Ball Plus accessory adds another layer of fun, providing a more tactile and realistic experience of catching Pokémon. However, this accessory is sold separately, and some might find it an unnecessary additional expense. The connection between Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon GO also extends to transferring Pokémon between games, which is a nice touch for players who enjoy both games. It adds value and a sense of continuity to the Pokémon universe. On the downside, some players have expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of wild Pokémon battles, which changes the traditional gameplay formula. This aspect might not sit well with purists who prefer the classic battle mechanics. Overall, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! earns a solid 4-star rating. It successfully blends nostalgia with innovation, creating an accessible and enjoyable experience for all ages. While it may not satisfy every hardcore fan's expectations, it's a commendable effort in adapting a beloved franchise for a new generation of gamers and a great addition to any Nintendo Switch library.

Pokémon but with a twist
It’s Pokémon but with a twist! Purchased as a gift for my niece. Not as complicated as the normal Pokémon games, this is a great start to franchise. Equally it’s a great additional seasoned vets. New catch and battle mechanics to keep it fresh but a new story too.

Accessible for younger children
Good intro game for younger children that want to play a Pokemon game. There is also an assistive 2 player mode where player 2 can assist player 1 with catching Pokemon. There is a little reading needed though.

Super fun game used to play Pokémon yellow as a kid and always wanted a newer version of it😃 I also like the catching Pokémon like Pokémon go and how your Pokémon level up when you catch new ones. I would recommend people to buy it if you liked playing Pokémon yellow 👍🏻

This game is amazing, as a person who has played the gen1,2,3 games I really enjoyed the game. It's a remake of Pokemon yellow (gen1) the only con with this game is the lack of wild battles but you get xp from catching Pokemon as well and there are alot of trainer battles too, the xp is distributed to the whole team so grinding is less as you don't have to grind xp for each team member, once you play this game you'll know that the game is pretty good
