Good pollen substitute
According to a message received from the seller ingredients include high fructose corn syrup, sugar, plant protein products, grain products, dried egg product, potassium chloride, choline chloride, natural flavoring, mixed tocopherols, d-alpha tocopherols acetate, ascorbic acid, spearmint oil and lemongrass oil. Would be nice to include this information in the description. As of this writing sellers have updated the description to indicate the correct protein content (15% is the correct value).Bees have no problem quickly consuming the product. I cut 1" wide strips to feed starter colony and used two at a time to minimize the amount of feed in the colony (deters SHBs). Two strips were gone in a matter of days and colony population is exploding. There is no need to remove paper wrapper but I did remove it from one side to help bees with the cleanup. When using the whole patty scoring the paper helps bees to get to the good stuff quicker.Overall very good value at the current price (<$14 per 1 lb). Would be nice to attach some kind of a label to the packaging, product looks unprofessionally home made and is shipped in a plain white envelope.

Good quality
This was definitely larger than I expected, so I cut it in half before placing in our hive. Our bees were not doing well, as we had a bigger large drought and there was very little for them to get to. I put this in there and they are doing very well now! The only downside is since they now have pollen in their hive, they don't venture out for natural pollen. We will only use this as needed, as we want what the more natural honey provides for health.

Great bee food
I recently purchased some bee food for my bees, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they absolutely devoured it! Their enthusiastic response indicates that the bee food must have been delicious and highly appealing to them. Seeing how much they enjoyed it gives me confidence in the quality of the product. I will definitely be repurchasing this bee food for my bees in the future, as their positive reaction speaks volumes about its taste and appeal to them.

Let the bees be the judge
About a month ago I set up two bee packages. The 1st one I put in a Village gift importers pollen patty that was left over from the fall. The 2nd I put in a Hive alive pollen patty.Opening up the hive this week I noticed that the Village gift importers patty was gone, but the Hive Alive is still almost complete. The Hive Alive is supposed to be better for the bees, but if they don't eat it....

My girls like it
I’m a first year beekeeper, so everything is new for me here in Colorado. September now, so I ordered this to help my bees make healthy brood for winter. Not knowing what to expect, I cut off about a quarter of the patty and put it in an internal feeder tray. My bees immediately began chewing off the wax paper, the next day the patty warmed up and the paper easily peeled off the top. I let them clean off the pollen stuck to the paper and removed the clean paper the next day as well as turning the patty over and peeling off the paper on the bottom. Easy to use
