REALLY helps my aging German Shepard dogs hips!!! WOOF!
My GSD is going on 8 years old, and is active and trying to run with the pup. Maybe very early arthritis or just wear and tear on his hips, he was getting up and down pretty gingerly as of late after goofing off out back with the 2 year old Belgian Malnois.I started him on just TWO of these a day after his meal in the AM (dosage per bottle is 3), and just stick them on the end of a knife I use to get a little cheap peanut butter out of the container. Dogs could care less if you use the expensive PB. HA! Get a little glob of peanut butter on the end of the knife, and push 2 of these into that, whole. With a small dog maybe one at a time?? Just slick em off with your finger and the pills you stuck into the peanut butter stays put very well. I just put my finger into the dogs mouth and rub on the upper teeth on the way out. He now is anxious for his pills and is VERY cooperative and takes them soooooooo easily. I just stick that peanut butter jar with the remaining bit of peanut butter on a pot and pan shelf and use again, as-is. It NEVER grows bacteria so you do not have to wash it but every 3-4 weeks. Keep the peanut butter lid on of course. Then wipe your finger tip on a paper towel or let the other dog lick the remaining peanut butter off, rinse finger and you are DONE!! This is soooo easy to do, I do not understand why people go to all kinds of trouble to get their dogs to take pills. The dogs LOVE this method, quickly adapt and is much nicer for them than sticking your finger half way down their throat! They think it's a TREAT!! Perfect! Here is the good part, the 105 pound (not fat, just big) GSD feels much better. Takes about 2-3 weeks for the benefit to start, though your or your dogs mileage may vary. I try not to miss a day. He is getting up and down much more comfortably. As his hips worsen with age, at some point I will use 3 tabs per day. Do NOT spend megabucks buying your Vets "so-called special" glucosamine stuff. Try this first.About 18 months ago, a major magazine with a lab that reviews things tested 20 different brands of this "type" of product. To their surprise, many of the tested items have very little active ingredients in them at all, or not anywhere near what they advertised, and were basically a waste of money. These are NOT FDA tested, as none of the glucosamine type products are, as they are in the supplement category. I don't recall this Schiff brand being one of the tested ones, but my dog has tested them, and he knows nothing about a placebo effect. He feels much better, which makes me feel better. Being as I see undeniable positive effect with my dog, I can see no reason it isn't worth trying for a human with hip, knee, or other joint problems. But be aware as the nice magazine warned us, many of these products, sometimes by BIG companies with lots of expensive ads everywhere, are sub-par products in reality with marginal active ingredient in them. This one works!!!! The big store has em too if you want to pay tax on em. I prefer to buy them here.By the way, delivery was FAST!!! Stock up b4 the word gets out and the price goes up. Excellent shelf life too. I don't write this positive nor long of a review unless I believe in what I am saying. Woof.

Works for us- humans and dogs- as a high quality, economical option
On our Subscribe & Save- for myself & my dogs as a high quality product at an economical price.Really like the Schiff brand- high quality & product solubility. No unabsorbable oyster shell residues here- offers a finely pulverized absorbable product.(Quick glucosamine test- add tabs to ~ 1/2 warm water and wait 30 minutes. Whatever is not dissolved is what you'll generally pass out through your GI tract - flushing your money. The Schiff product dissolves completely- is available for absorption.)3 tabs/1500 mg means 500 mg/tab - makes it easier to dose my pets at appropriate levels.(It's trickier to do so if you use the 2 tabs/1500 mg tablets.)(NB:DO consult your vet prior to giving to your dogs. Am only relating my experience, and assume absolutely NO liability/responsibility for the information presented for your use. If you DECIDE to act, based on the insights presented, YOU assume 100% responsibility/liability, without recourse, for any / all outcomes.
