I wasn't particularly expecting a great deal from this but thought it would serve to keep a three years old enthusiasm for digging fossils alive. It was all very well packed and arrived quickly. The highlight for me was the enclosed books which were well written and pitched perfectly for 3 to 6 year olds - particularly if the 3 year old is a bit precocious! The fossils were not as small as expected and some were quite large. The minerals/crystals came in two packs one just bits really while the other had quite large specimens. The TV crystal I couldn't get to work at all but that is probably just me. All in all then an ideal gift for under 7's providing a range of good quality specimens and delivering good value. I know some people reviewing said that you could get better and cheaper by buying individual items from specialist dealers and that could well be true BUt you wouldn't get the very attractive books and the equally attractive packaging both outside and inside the box.

Amazing set! My son loves his stone and gem collections, these are great quality! A good mix of gems (size and shape mix) and includes real gems with fact sheets. A great gift idea for kids who love science and certainly great value for money in comparison to other sets out there

Bought for my 6 year old son for christmas and he LOVES it. He played with it non-stop on christmas day and proudly showed each individual gem and fossil to everyone. He still loves it and is very proud of his collection. Would recommend.

My grandson loved them, he is autistic and this has helped him gain an interest in something while learning at the same time.

Great little set for a child, however definitely not 200+ pieces within the set
