Always pleased with this brand good product

I used this to prime some wood panels for oil painting, it spreads well you can either give it one thick coat or a few thinner ones with a bit of sanding (recommended) but it works great it gives you so much more time to work with the oils and they dry at a much more manageable rate. Definitely recommend this.

I usually use white but was painting on a linen panel and wanted it to show through. Whilst not the cheapest, Liquitex is fantastic quality and has remained an industry staple for a reason. The consistency was perfect. It spread well, dried quickly and smoothly and gave a great base to work on.

It's a perfectly good gesso, a little pricey but good quality. The only down side is that it has a strong odour until it dries.

Like another reviewer I purchased clear gesso as a cheaper alternative to pastel mat, i'm a beginner and practicing techniques, so quite a waste using pastel mat for this. Clear gesso mixed with watercolour tube paint gives me a huge variety of choices for background colours. I paint the mixture onto watercolour paper, wait for it to dry and I'm good to go. Its got a good tooth so grips my pastels and I'm painting more as its cheaper and so my work is improving all the time. Highly recommend clear gesso

Nice and thick with good coverage. Wish they sold the pastel colours over here and the metallic ones. Bought this for around £12, wouldn’t pay more than that though.

Good coverage with two coats. Paint adhered well. Makes a change from using white gesso.

Great for priming colour surfaces. I used it for priming some of the pages in one of my sketchbooks (ap. 100 gsm paper, not suitable for washes and using wet media). It's worth to notice that it gives much rougher surface that the white liquitex gesso which have rather smooth finishing. Great overall value.

Super! Ho comprato questo gesso per dipingere sul legno senza perdere il colore e naturalità della base. Sono molto soddisfatta del risultato e della facilità d'applicazione (non occorre perdere ore per evitare i segni dell'applicazione) la consistenza consente un'applicazione veloce. Normalmente uso acrilici, gessetti per abbozzare, la superficie risulta aspra, ma delicata (granulometria fine) che consente di trattenere il disegno senza generare eccessiva polverosità. Ho letto che su poteva usare per preparare la carta per disegno con solo pastelli, anche se non ho ancora provato, mi sembra proprio fattibile dai risultati percepiti sul legno.
