AB Tools Towbar Electrics 7 Way Bypass Relay for Canbus Multiplex Wiring Smart TR186

Fairly easy to wire up if you're confident with wiring and it works as required. The only instructions included were in French, but English wiring instructions are in the item description, and easily available online if you Google the part number TEB7AS. Important to note that the relay is NOT IP rated and needs to be mounted where it will not be exposed to water ingress, moisture etc. I purchased this one to replace an identical unit which had failed due being mounted underneath our motorhome with no protection. I installed the replacement in an IP rated enclosure and used cable glands. The coloured wires need to be spliced into the vehicles lighting harness. Most instructions say to use 'scotch' type connectors; I strongly advise against these and would recommend soldering the wires and using heatshrink, or using crimps.

Works a treat ( vw transporter t5.1 )+ no faults showing on dash vw will understand- as not oem reversing sensors have a party when reversing as I do t have the parking sensor cut out fitted.Other than that would recommend easy to install.

Needs a separate live supply from battery, earth to chassis, just beware of the blue block connectors they don’t always work first time. Other than that it’s worth fitting, even beeps when indicating.

Simple installation, just find the right wires, splice in. As always, make sure you have a good battry+ connection and ground to suitable body where available. The beeper is loud enough.Worked out much cheaper and simpler than buying an expensive kit for a VW transporter.
