AMAZING AND EASY TO USE!
I’ve been using the Clairol Root Touch-Up in Dark Brown (4) for a while now, and it’s truly the best solution for in-between salon visits. The color blends seamlessly with my professionally dyed hair—no harsh line, no obvious “at-home” look. What I think doesn’t get talked about enough is how QUICK and MESS-FREE it is. The little mixing tray and brush make it so easy to apply exactly where you need it without wasting product or staining your skin. Another huge plus: the formula doesn’t have that overwhelming chemical smell you get with a lot of dyes. It’s much gentler, and my hair still feels soft and shiny after rinsing—no straw-like texture. I also love that the kit has just the right amount of product for roots, so you’re not dealing with leftovers or having to guess how much to mix. For me, this has been a salon-saver and confidence-booster. It stretches my color appointments by a few weeks while keeping my hair looking fresh and natural. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants professional-looking results at home without the hassle.

Oh my God, this thing works really well. I usually never review on Amazon, but this is my second review on an item. Very easy to use the color matches my hair left it on for 10 minutes and washed it off all of my gray hairs are gone. This thing is amazing. It really works. Thank you so much.

This works for me
First, let me say that I think whether this product is for you depends on your hair color and whether you are trying to cover up grey hair vs. non-grey roots of another color. I use the Nice 'n Easy Root Touch-up to cover totally grey roots on dyed medium brown hair. For me, the Root Touch-Up actually works better than regular hair color. Like all hair color, this stuff changes (oxidizes) after a few shampoos. So, Dark Brown initially starts out VERY dark, but after 2 to 3 shampoos, it lightens up a bit. ALL permanent hair coloring does this, but I find that the Root Touch-Up lightens LESS over time than regular hair dye. In my case, I am covering up VERY grey roots in my center part and along my temples and it covers VERY well, blending nicely into the rest of my hair. I estimate that my hair is probably 60-70% grey, but because I color it all the time, I only see it at the roots. And no matter what hair color I use, I can see a teeny bit of grey within a week because hair GROWS. Other than parting one's hair differently, there isn't much you can do about that. Grey roots against dark hair are obviously far more noticeable than grey roots in blond hair. But in terms of actual grey coverage? The Root Touch-Up is PERFECT. Unlike other "dark brown" regular hair dye, my grey hair actually becomes dark brown with the Root Touch-Up. Every other hair color I've tried gives me some light or orange-y version of brown because the grey is not fully covered. Although the product contains only a small amount of product, the pigment is much more highly concentrated than regular hair coloring and a little goes a long way. I think that there's a safety advantage with this too: probably best to use the least amount of hair dye you can. Also -- and this is key for me -- the color of the Dark Brown itself is a true neutral brown. I detest red and brass overtones, which are present even in brown dyes advertised as "ash" or "neutral". THIS PRODUCT IS A TRUE NEUTRAL BROWN. As my hair grows (I wear it long, to my mid-back), the color of Root Touch-Up does lighten a bit BUT STAYS NEUTRAL BROWN. No red overtones. No brassy overtones. This is critical for me and what makes this product ideal for me. It's the ONLY hair coloring product I've ever use that gives me the brown shade I want. I find that my roots stay colored for about 3 weeks with Root Touch-Up; this is the same amount of time for me as with regular hair coloring. Again, if you have high-contrast roots (grey on black or dark brown), you are obviously going to see the regrowth in a more prominent way. Hair coloring comes with many tradeoffs but for me, the trueness of the color, the excellent grey coverage, as well as the ease of application make this a great product.

Perfect color for Asian hair without red
Dark brown is a perfect match for the common natural growth, dark brown/black Asian hair. Moist importantly, it doesn’t leave that awful reddish or purple cheap hue that so many brown dyes do. It’s also not “black” which I’m avoiding- it looks natural on my roots. I’ve tried countless box dyes to stretch out my $500 salon visits, but my hair grows incredibly fast and I hate the big white haired temple patches that grow in. It actually dyes my incredibly dye-resistant white hairs fairly well, but I always leave it on for about 50 min (I know this is bad). 1) I wish they gave about 25% more product to better cover the white roots I get in the temple triangles have plus the few white hairs randomly popping up in my front. 2) they need slimmer or better gloves (I use my own because these are so big and fat that they are messy

SO EASY! SAVES A LOT OF TIME & MONEY COMPARED TO THE SALON.
I've been using the Clairol Root Touch-Up for years. I'd always gone to the salon for touch-ups but it was so expensive and took up too much time. I was terrified of doing it myself the first time, but it is a breeze! The main thing I recommend is having a couple of not-favorite towels to use after you rinse the color from your hair. The color rinses out easily. The first time I did it, I did it by leaning over the tub, kneeling outside the tub, using a hand-held shower head. Way too much trouble! Now, I do it in the shower. I just rinse it out, apply a generous amount of conditioner, wait a few minutes, then rinse again. It's a little awkward to get to the back. It would probably be better if you have a helper, but I have never used one. I just try to make horizontal parts on the back of my head, then apply the color and try to comb it through. My hair has "stubborn" grays so I leave the color on longer than prescribed, usually about 25 min. from when I start to apply the color. I often alternate between levels 4 and 5. I honestly don't know why! Overall, I love this product.
