An absolute MUST when installing french drainage in clay soiled gardens. 300mm trench made up of this non-woven geotextile membrane laid in the trench, then 100mm fill of ‘clean’ rounded 20mm gravel/pebbles, then 60mm perforated ribbed drainage pipe put in trench at 80:1 gradient (I did 1cm fall every 80cm) then filled with more clean gravel. Important to then wrap the membrane over and then 100mm hardcore over all the area and whack plate used. Then fitted porcelain large tiles. This membrane WILL STOP your drainage pipes from clogging up making the inner pipe still functionable.

Does what it says on the tin - strong (stronger than I expected) and very permeable . We did a little french drain and used some on borders for weeds and it did both jobs. It came folded not on a roll but that didn't cause any issue.
