Fox RunNon-Stick Baking Mat, Silicone, 16.5-Inch x 24.5-Inch

This is the very first mat I've ever used when started baking. I love how convenient this mat is and how well it works with fondant. The size is perfect for me. I own two. I hope to get another when necessary. The material and thickness is perfect and durable.

Good looking, easy to clean and doesn't slip when it shouldn't. The mat is thick enough so that I feel it will last a long time.

I cook for a living and have used the french Silpat mats for years. For those of you that don't know- The Silpat mat was the "original" nonstick silicone baking mat from France. Looking for some new mats for home use I found these on Amazon. After using them for almost a year I have to say they perform every bit as good as the original french version at a much better price. From an aesthetic position, I prefer the grey and white of these to the orange and tan of the Silpats, also these give you measurements on the mat which adds usefulness while rolling out doughs and such. If you have never used silicone baking mats they are vital additions to anyone who bakes or makes candied confections. Things simply don't stick to these mats.One heads up- the first time you use these for baking in the oven they give off a distinct "plastic" odor which doesn't affect the food flavor and dissipates quickly. After that there is no odor during use.

Nothing sticks very much and rolling out tortillas or kneading bread dough is easy. When done it rolls up and stores out of the way.

These Mats are wonderful. They save so much tin foil, prep time, and trash. They are easily washable and stains seem to rinse right off.

I have a Silpat, a generic Silpat (different than the Fox Run brand) and then I got this one. Out of all of them, I think this one works the best. I was skeptical because the price is so much lower than the Silpats, but these work really well.
