Twelve Monkeys

An interesting and strange movie. Liked it though.Upgraded from DVD to Blu Ray and saw a marked improvement in quality. In 1996 a virus wipes out a huge percentage of the world’s population... that would never happen now days would it? 🤔

Set in a strange, maybe now more familiar, dystopian world, devastated by a pandemic released by a mad scientist. fortunately, the 'council' has the ability to send a minion back into the past, seeking a way to stop that future. Bruce Willis is the minion, Brad Pitt the brilliantly schizophrenic target, his urban terrorist organisation, Twelve Monkeys, a full dairy fruit and nut group. completing the triangle is love interest Madeleine Stow. A terry Gillian masterpiece, and the perfect film to lockdown with. It deserves recognition for Gillian's talents, Willis acting the roll deftly, and Pitt's portrayal. The plot may be slightly flawed as it completes the circle, but its a regular rerun for me, alongside Luc Besson's Leon, but that's another story.

Terry Gilliam certainly has a unique way of looking at the world, which comes across in his movies.I won't comment on the story, as I wouldn't want to give anything away, other than to say, I've watched this film several times, and each time, it only gets better, as I understand more and more of what is going on, and realise that what I thought was going on on previous viewings was just scratching the surface.Excellent performances by Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt and Madeline Stowe.Good "Making of..." and "Audio Commentary too!Well recommended!

Arrived on time 👍, these ARROW Video's are great restoration's , 4K restoration , 5.1DTS or 2.0 stereo ,upgrade from DVD ,Terry Gilliam's time paradox and Love movie , Brilliant , interviews and documentary about the making of , happy video head 😀👍

Always needed this in my collection, in the present world situation though it was a good time to get it. Give us strength.

Great film and this is the only way to watch this film if you are not a BBC subscriber. Not on Netflix nor Amazon Prime video...

Thanks reliable Amazon! Received this DVD in good time and in good condition. Terry Gilliam's simply brilliant production keeps you hooked and guessing from start to finish. Approx 124 mins running time. Don't want to spoil things by saying too much. Plenty of action, the gentle, naive relationship between Cole and Dr Kathryn Railly gives an aching human thread to this wonderful conundrum of a tale. Fantastic performances by Bruce Willis, Madeline Stowe, Brad Pitt and Christopher Plummer. The fabulous haunting film score reflects the tension and pace of events. Enough extras on the DVD to satisfy Gilliam fans (87 mins worth). Highly recommended.
