I love this stuff. It's delicious, refreshing, and it reminds me of when I was a little girl. My Japanese grandmother would always get me these drinks and we would share them together.

Love this flavor. Found this drink by accident. All their other flavors are great as well. Strawberry tastes like fresh sweet real strawberry’s.

Calpico is the North American name of Calpis, a probiotic milk beverage made in Japan by Asahi. The Japanese katakana on the label say "Calpis Water." Its flavor is like Yakult (Sofúl), DanActive (Actimel), or Chamyto. Like those drinks, this is fermented a little by lactic acid and tastes sweet, surprisingly as if it's a mild citrus juice. Not carbonated. Good quality on arrival. I thought I would have to add water, but no; it's ready to drink as-is. Shake well before opening. This category of drinks has, to me, a fascinating, unique flavor considering that it comes from milk. In North America, Yakult is more common at grocery stores and has an almost identical flavor. In Mexico and South America, it's similar to Sofúl or Chamyto. The value is okay I guess, but if you're new, I recommend one of those before importing Calpico. I'm curious about Calpico's fruit flavors. I might buy one of those next. It's gentle on my stomach, but just in case, I don't consume acidic, bubbly, potent drinks or unusual food in combination with this type of drink. I think of it like drinking milk just in case, and I've never had stomach problems with it. Refrigerate after opening. Even though this contains milk, the fermentation prolongs its freshness regardless of refrigeration if the bottle hasn't been opened yet.

My wife got me hooked on these. My mother in law was from Japan. And my wife said she drank these as a kid. So for her, it brought back memories of her childhood. She likes the lemon flavor as well as myself. But I also ordered the strawberry one and it is just as good and flavorful as the lemon one. I’m hooked on them now. I’m looking forward to trying all the flavors.
