A Game-Changer for Streaming — Obsbot Absolutely Nailed This
I am in love with the Obsbot Tail 2. This little camera feels like having a full production crew packed into one device. The AI tracking is insanely smooth—once it locks onto you, it stays locked, even if you move around a lot. The zoom is clean, responsive, and doesn’t ruin the quality like many other compact cameras do. Battery life is another huge win. I can run long streams without stressing about plugging in or cutting things short. And the fact that it can work wirelessly makes setup so much cleaner and easier. It genuinely feels like a professional upgrade without needing a desk full of equipment. Low-light performance surprised me the most. Even in dimmer rooms, the image still looks crisp and balanced. No grainy mess, no weird color shifts. If you’re a streamer, content creator, or just someone who wants an effortless, high-performance camera that actually keeps up with you, the Obsbot Tail 2 is absolutely worth it. This thing has instantly become one of my favorite pieces of gear.

PTZR for Mobile Live Streaming
Whether streaming or recording, indoors or out, the OBSBOT Tail 2 is at the head of the class. AI Tracking works well, even holding me in a crowd. The 4K sensor provides a beautiful image and the 5x optical zoom brings the action to you. Battery life is a real-world 5+ hours. Physical connections include HDMI, SDI, UVC and RS232 (PTZ control). Software connections offer RSTP, SRT, NDI. Throw in Wifi6 and BLE 5.4 and you have the ultimate mobile live streaming camera.

Best auto follow, amazing quality.
These are amazing! the best auto follow on the market. I wish they would come out with a 20x zoom and 2.8 lens and I would use these in my church. The only draw back is having to position close. The video quality is excellent but the auto follow, the use of the app when I travel, the self leveling is a game changer for quick setup. Just please add a 20x zoom!

Powerful Camera Solution
The OBSBot Tail 2 is a game-changer for content creators and videographers alike. From the moment you unbox it, the solid construction and premium design speak to its durability and reliability. The AI tracking is nothing short of exceptional, effortlessly following subjects with precision and responsiveness, making filming smooth and intuitive. Whether capturing dynamic movement or setting up professional shots, this camera delivers impressive performance. Setup is quick and straightforward, and the controls are easy to navigate, allowing users to focus on creativity rather than technical adjustments. An absolute must-have for anyone looking for an intelligent, high-quality camera solution!

Game-Changing Smart Camera for Solo Creators and Live Production
I’ve been using the OBSBOT Tail 2 for my live streams and multi-camera sports coverage, and it has completely changed the way I work behind the camera. The AI tracking is incredibly reliable – it locks onto the subject and smoothly follows movement without the jittery or delayed response I’ve seen from other “smart” cameras. Being able to switch between shots, reframe, and let the camera track players or speakers automatically feels like having an extra camera operator in the room. The 4K image quality is excellent with the 1/1.5" sensor, with sharp detail and clean video even in less-than-ideal lighting, and the PTZR design (pan, tilt, zoom, rotate) makes it super flexible for both landscape and vertical content. Integration into my live production setup has been straightforward, and once you get your presets dialed in, it’s very easy to run a professional-looking show with minimal manual control. The app and gesture controls are also a big plus when I’m moving around and don’t want to be tied to a control surface. Is it an investment? Absolutely. But for creators, churches, schools, and anyone doing live events, sports, or content creation, the OBSBOT Tail 2 earns its keep by reducing the need for extra camera operators and helping you capture angles and motion shots that are hard to pull off solo.

Good Camera / MacOS Software Problems
Nice quality camera, but the Obsbot Center software continuously crashed on MacOS Tahoe rendering a lot of the functionality unavailable without using a mobile app.

Long way to go yet!
Keep in mind I'm a Tier 4 IT veteran of over 20 years and design camera systems for clients and I don't normally write reviews unless people really need to be warned. This product is Terrible... So it supports all these protocols RTSP, UVC (USB Webcam), etc but you can only use one at a time. RTSP simply would not work in VLC or OBS Studio and tried various settings, firmware update, different devices, etc. It can't even run off one USB cable. You have 2 USB C and only one you can charge it over but can't UVC, the other you can UVC but can't charge or even power it. It also won't charge the internal battery over POE, only that one USB charging port, and it likes to turn off on low battery even when it has POE plugged in so we ran two cables to it for all testing. Internal battery died quickly as well. Will be returning.

Game changer at this price point!
I own three Tail 2's and they are doing the same job that a Panasonic 4K PTZ camera 10x this price does, plus, the Tail 2 has the additional axis of movement, R for rotate. It's low-light capabilities are amazing for a small 1/1.5" sensor. The clarity and detail is very impressive in a high contrast situation like filming a Christmas tree with lights. See my video below. You can see the detail if the fake pine needles as well as the lights themselves without the lights blowing out exposure. The new AI Tracking 2.0 is great even in low-light situations where contrast between dark and light can be limited. It's not perfect, but it's certainly better than any other AI tracking engine I've come across at this price point. The focus engine is very fast and like the AI rracking, auto focus performs very well where there is little contrast in low light.
