The price to performance on this was unbeatable at the time I bought it and I have been loving this phone for years. At one point, I tried switching to an iPhone for social reasons, but experiencing iOS made me realize how much I love Android. Even coming from a Samsung, Xiaomi's Miui has quality of life features that I just love and wouldn't want a phone without (like turning off my flashlight with the power button). Battery is still running strong at 99% health years later and lasts all day, even in Florida heat and humidity. Screen is plenty bright to use for navigation on my motorcycle.

[edit] I forgot to mention that I use this with Mint mobile. I've also swapped with a T-Mobile card too and found the phone calls work just fine. Internet needs a little config to get going. In short, I need to add the proper APN settings for different carriers. This is a limitation of the carrier and not the phone. Luckily, these settings are easily found with a quick google search and you can get the settings from Mint and T-Mobile quite easily. Once you've found the page, you have to go into your phones settings, go to the mobile provider settings and add a new access point network (APN) profile. Then I just enter the info found in the table. Now it's easy to screw up these settings, but that's no big deal. Just delete the profile and try again, a wrong setting won't brick your phone. I've had this for about 4 months so far and it runs circles around my son's iPhone 16. I still get superb battery life and have enabled a feature where it reboots automatically every night. After these months of usage, I'm happy with the camera, but that's because I'm not a big camera kind of person. Also, I found that the dolby sound setting kind of sucks, so I leave that turned off. I still feel like it's the best money I've ever spent on a smartphone in decades. I recently visited GeekBench just to see how this phone stacks up and again I'm proud to say that other phones within the same score are all north of $900. If I may nerd out just a bit, this phone is like the Millenium Falcon... “She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid.” - Han Solo [/edit] Simply put, you will not find another snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 12 GB of RAM for under $1000 anywhere else. Read the reviews of the snapdragon versus the Tensor chip (Pixel 9) for yourself. As for the OS, it's the XiaoMi OS which is at its heart, Android 14. and it is truly Android 14, play store and all. The Xiaomi OS customizations aren't too bad and there's very little bloatware (reminds me of how much I dislike Samsung). There is a neat battery saving feature where you can choose between some limited charging profiles to just straight up limiting the maximum charge to 80% (note that this limit setting does not work when the phone is powered off). The thing just sips power. I've installed a couple of emulators just to game around a bit and even though I limit the charge to 80%, I've never really seen my phone dip below 50% of battery life. I only charge it during the day and the 90W power supply provides me a full charge in about 2-5 minutes. (note that this is only going from 50% to 80% and I have overheating protection enabled). The clock app is a little funky. make sure you're using the built in clock app and not the one from google. You'll get some strange error notification that I can't seem to remember at this time. I got this phone because my old phone (galaxy 9s) just didn't have the processing power and had a very hard time with Android Auto wirelessly. I kind of wish this thing had an SD card slot. It does have a tray that supports two nano sim cards (Back to back) and the box does come with a silicone case for the phone as well as a qc car adapter. It does not support wireless charging and does not have a headphone jack.

Very good phone for its price tag. Outstanding performance. Good camera. The only downside is its battery which lasts around 6 to 8 hours of screentime

the phone is not unlocked as it says in the item description, and customer service is difficult to get ahold of. requires a lot of uninstalling of unnecessary apps and disabling of extra features to be efficient, maybe even debloating if your tech savvy. other than this device performance is good (great for the cost really). good to game on. be aware there aren't many cases for this phone.
