This is a great sounding, solid instrument. Although I typically play it acoustically in my Americana roots band, when I’ve plugged it into an amp or mixing board I’ve found the plugged in sound also to be quite good.

I purchased the smaller version for my husband but he yes 6 ft and it was too short for him to sit on. So I purchased this taller box and it’s perfect. He loves the quality material as well as the sound. He plays it with our church band and everyone things it sounds great.

When I first unboxed it and started checking it out, I noticed a terrible rattle(beyond a normal snare sound). I took the panel off to inspect it and one of the springs on one of the snares was bent way out of shape. So I bent it back close to where it should be and put it back together. Rattle gone and it sounds great! If not for this issue, i would have rated it 5 stars. Plugged it into my interface to test out the electronics and they worked perfect! Excellent deep bass and a quality snare sound. I bought this particular model because of the electronics. I wanted to do some recording without mic-ing it up. The 3 pickups are attached directly to the strike panel and seem to be quite true to the natural sound of the instrument.

This is my first Cajon and all I can say is, WOW! I love the bass and the snare sounds. The frontplate is smooth and punchy. It arrived just in time and in good shape. it's light and I'm also using the ChromaCast Cajon bag. The amplification is available and it works great. I'm plugging it to my portable speaker (Block Rocker) using 1/4 inch cable and it works like magic. It's loud!!! It's a beauty and I can't wait to get my first gig. Very much recommended. I liked the idea of the built-in pickup, but this cajon arrived D.O.A. It had an unruly resonant twang when I tapped the front. The sound was unuseable. Support through Sweetwater was terrible. I was hoping there might be a simple solution, like an adjustment to the snare strings. But I kept getting put on hold to transfer me to a different department, and after about an hour waiting on hold, I gave up. There was also no phone support available from the manufacturer (Meinl). Hopefully the next person won't have this issue.

Great for the price

I have gotten 3 different cajons. All minel cajons . I like them all but I especially love this one because I can plug it in to our amp system which you can see behind a picture. It lets me be hard with the band that I’m playing with it does really sound good I’m very happy with it and I’m glad I made this choice. If you do plan a combo like this you would want that power so you can be heard and it also makes the band sound wonderful.So take it from me you cannot go wrong with this Cajon
