A great read! The author brought history to life with his words. Fascinating descriptions of the challenges and celebrations Saunders endured. Including the likes of JC Bradford and famous stock traders of the time was very enlightening. Wall Street against Piggly and Piggly against Wall Street. A story of perseverance. And a story of learning from prior business and personal relationship mistakes, and the pain they create.

This book details the life of Clarence Saunders, the founder of the Piggly Wiggly supermarket chain. Mr. Freeman has done extensive and exhaustive research on his subject. I highly recommend this book to other biography readers as well as those interested in history.

A fascinating look at a very Trump-like character. The explanation of the financial details of his various difficulties was not well explained, and that's the only reason I didn't give it five stars. A great book for anyone who finds the stories of entrepreneurs interesting.
