Citicoline is a supplement and the ingredients should have NO odor. The gelatin capsules should have no odor and no taste. My recent bottle of 1000 mg capsules appeared intact and capsules appeared normal, but the odor emanating from the bottle was almost overpowering with an organic scent (possibly some fish derivative??). I opened a capsule, spread the powder separated from the gelatin capsule but it still had that malodor even after several hours and the next day. The contents were obviously contaminated and it's of concern about how many other bottles of that lot were contaminated. If this were a fish oil product, I could understand an odor, but this product should not. I contacted the manufacturer directly, amazing formulas, via online email and got no response whatsoever. Buyer beware, caveat emptor. Quality control and response to customer concerns appears to be sorely lacking.
