I have bought this multiple times, and my husband and I love it. It's terrific for making a flatbread pizza with some goat cheese or brie and something salty like ham or proscuitto. It is surprisingly sweet, so having something salty with it balances it. It's also really hard to find onion jam in stores, so I'm glad that Amazon carries it. Just be aware that it is a fairly small jar. It does feel a little too expensive for everyday, but it makes a great stocking stuffer or gift for foodie friends. I definitely recommend it.

I got this to put on some patty melts and it was wonderful on them. On it's own the onion jam tastes just like the caramelized onions I make at home, but there's this little hit of acidity (from the ascorbic acid) that hits right at the end, but it doesn't get in the way of the caramelized onion flavor. However the acidity flavor is there and I was worried it would ruin the flavor of the patty melt, but it didn't. I like to put ketchup on my patty melts (I know, the horror, right?) and I noticed that the ketchup cut the acidic taste quite a bit, almost to the point where I didn't notice the ascorbic acid taste (first bite), so that was nice. I was able to enjoy the patty melt and I got used to the ascorbic acid flavor quickly and soon didn't notice it anymore. I would like to make some French onion soup with this onion jam or perhaps a grilled cheese with the onion jam in the middle...both sound really good. The flavor is pretty concentrated, so I found that I used less of this onion jam than I usually do of the caramelized onions I make at home, so that's a plus. Would I buy this again? Sure, as long as it stays under $9. Making caramelized onions is a pain in the butt and takes a long time to do it the right way. I usually don't take them this far (jam stage), choosing to stop cooking them when they are still recognizable as onions. I am always afraid I will burn them, plus taking them to the jam stage takes about an hour. Thank you for taking the time to read my review, I hope it was helpful.

It's hard to imagine this being improved. An amazing combination of mild onion flavor, sweet sensation, and a little bit of texture held together by a buttery smooth jam with a substantial, sauce-like mouth feel. An awesome condiment and something you should try! I see other purchasers received this product with dented lids. Mine was fine but I also ordered the Divina chili fig spread and that came with a dented lid and broken vacuum seal. It seem properly packed in bubble wrap so I presume it happened earlier in the chain and it may be a problem with the manufacturer/distributor. These are sold as not eligible for returns or refunds but if yours is damaged, a little persistence and patience will get you a refund if necessary.

This spread is exceptional for a charcuterie board. We paired it with an aged cheddar cheese. It would also make a great condiment for a roast beef and cheddar sandwich. Would also pair well with pork.

It arrived promptly, but I HATED it. I'd never tried caramelized onion jam before, and this smelled and tasted absolutely REVOLTING. I threw it out after the first taste and I will definitely NEVER buy it again.
