Good buy
Aside from the fact that activision blizzard made it, it’s a decent game to pass time with friends

horrible customer experience. Game never did start
Update 12/10/18: Finally got this working, strictly through my own efforts-- their "customer not-service" was useless. But by stint of keeping on keeping on, I finally got the game running on my gaming rig. So I upped it to 3 stars. If it had a single-player offline mode? 4. The horrible install experience forever taints the game.Worst customer experience ever-- even eclipsing Microsoft's traditionally crappy "support". No warning that this was an online-ONLY game! Apparently, for PCs there is no offline mode AT ALL! I loathe playing with strangers, and I loved Diablo 2-- played it for years beyond it's initial release. This game? I have no idea. it's literally been nearly 2 hours of fighting the HORRIBLE "battlenet.exe" program, that has nothing to do with the actual D3 game. Endless loops back to "log in" even though I'm already logged in... Worst Website Ever. Finally got the download to start-- absolutely NOT clear that was even happening! NO WARNING. It just started, without so much as a "by your leave". Horribly slow, too-- less than 2MEG per second! On a gigabyte connection..! Looks like it'll take all afternoon. I should have just ordered the CD's instead-- I WISH I had done that-- I'd be DONE by now! Customer "support" (chat) was very nice-- but kept telling me things that, while true, had NOTHING to do with the issue(s) at hand. Again, not unlike Microsoft: Tell you things that are accurate, but useless to solving your issue(s).I will see if I can get a refund from Amazon. Blizzard claims I have to go through 'zon, as that's how I purchased it.I really wanted to play this game, too....

Diablo is back, No where is safe!
Wonderful game, Ive been playing it since launch and recently bought a copy for my brother. Lots of flexibility in your character builds, and the story is incredible. Lots of replayability, and coupled with Reaper of Souls, provides hundreds of hours of entertainment.

Game is great, customer experience not so much
Loved Diablo 2, but heard lots of griping and complaining about Diablo 3 when released, mostly because of the way Blizzard handled the whole DRM and anti-piracy thing. Years later, I finally bought D3, and fought with battle.net just to load the mandatory app. The game requires an internet connection to play, so after FINALLY getting battle.net to download, install and download the game, I get a message in my first hour of game play that the Blizzard servers are going to undergo maintenance, and the game will be unplayable while that happens. Sheesh. Now I remember why I have stayed away from Blizzard games in the past. I rate 5 stars for the game, 1 star for Blizzard for a final score of 3. If you can tolerate all the background foolishness, it really is a thoroughly entertaining game.

Beautiful, fun, unplayable.
Pros:It's just as fun as I remember 1 & 2 being.Graphics are slick, Everything is so shiny and smooth! It lets you play before it's even done downloading. How cool is that? somewhere between 20-30%, and I can play it as it finishes in the background. I don't know how they pulled it off, but I'd love to see more games with this feature.ENDLESS LOOT!Cons:ONLINE ONLY. I get it. It's more fun with friends, better loot with a bigger party, etc. I enjoy single player, and it frustrates me to have a hiccup in my connection and have to reload into a game.Graphics rendering - Yes, it looks gorgeous. If someone joins the lobby and they have a poor connection, expect to lose 20-50 FPS. It's not unplayable, but it's jarring at best and will kill you occasionally.UNPLAYABLESo, fun fact: for a percentage of players, there is a bug where having it installed kills most internet connectivity. I can load Plex & netflix, but so much as checking mail is impossible. Steam games and browser are out for connections. The only way to fix it it to uninstall it, and even then I had to strip out a ton of extra reg entries before I got my system back up and running. Odd thing is, it doesn't seem to happen until it is completely installed. Whatever is doing it, it seems to grab a number of common ports and keeps them open and locked to the game. Whatever actually is happening, it makes the online only game unplayable and cripples my system. So, 4.5 stars for the game itself for fun; 1 for bugs that make it pointless to own.

Still Fun
This is a lot like the original, which I last played many, many years ago, though it seems like the game was too easy on normal difficulty.

Difficult to play with others
If you like exploring, this game is addictive. Improved graphics over the last Diablo game. Biggest difference is that unlike previous game, with this one, playing with other people is difficult. You can open game for others to join. The option for that is hard to find. I had to google how to do it. But no one has ever joined my games. I have also tried to join others games. But none were ever available to join. Ihave beet the game with one character but never saw another player. It seems more like a 1 player game. But still fun for me.
