The attachment works
The attachment worked okay but my Kitchen Aid Mixer mini’s screw couldn’t hold it after the machine started running. It got automatically unfastened itself. I was lucky to caught it before it fell off. If you hold the screw while milling, it would work without problems. But I am 72 years old, I may not remember doing that. So I returned it and going to buy a stone miller. It cost a lot more. It will ease the worry of causing accidents To be fair, it’s a good product. It probably won’t have the problem if you use a regular size Kichen Aid machine. I have successfully milled corn kernels.

Attachment falls off the mixer
This attachment is terrible. I attached it exactly as the instructions said. After 2 minutes of milling on a medium speed, the piece completely fell off into the bowl and dumped it with the wheat berries spilling everywhere. It comes loose within 10 seconds of attaching. I have to go over and re-tighten the attachment every 30 seconds which is ridiculous. My husband even tightened it as hard as he could and it still doesn’t stay on. I highly recommend NOT purchasing this product!

Make your own flour at home!
The Grain Mill Attachment for KitchenAid Stand Mixer is a sturdy, all-metal accessory that grinds fully dried, low-moisture grains like wheat, corn, millet, and cereals with nine adjustable levels for coarse to fine textures. It’s easy to attach, well-built, and perfect for home bakers who occasionally want fresh flour. However, it works slowly, has a small hopper, and can strain the mixer’s motor during large batches. It’s not suitable for oily or moist grains and requires manual cleaning. Overall, it’s a durable and efficient choice for small-batch flour making.

Inconsistent texture and very taxing on the motor.
Did not produce a consistent texture (I needed a gritty granule and was getting a large amount of fine powder along with some much larger than expected granules rather than the in between size that I needed) and it was very stressing on my mixers motor (smelled like it was burning up the motor so I had to stop and let it rest very frequently). I did try upping the output size thinking it would be easier on the motor and I could just mill a second or even third time if needed, but I was getting the same results. Not worth burning up my new Kitchen Aid power head. So I gave up and now have a load of grains that I have no way to effectively mill.
