A Day in the Life of The Beatles Hardcover – October 19, 2010

I just 'celebrated' the 55th anniversary of the Day of Madness with 2 people who participated on the actual day; Gary Evans (then Mal's 6-year-old son) and Tom who was one of the photographers who brought the actual camera he used. You can still visit many of the places in the book. Excellent book covering the day, if the book was done today, I would hope they added the stories behind the photos.

Got this book today and it's a must have for anyone who collects Beatles books, especially those that focus on photos. Every shot in this book comes from the famous July 28th 1968 shoot that saw the Beatles go to various spots around London. Some of the shots are easily familiar, others help to fill in the gaps of what took place that day.My favorite shot? It's on pages 122/123 and it shows the Beatles with their heads resting on each other while Macca stands in the center with his eyes closed - as if he was wishing that it would go on forever. Six months later it was all coming apart.

This book captures some great photos of the day. Many I have never seen before (even on dedicated Mad Day Out websites) It is a shame that they didnt include all of the photos, I guess like most things they will drag these out into mutliple editions with more photos includedDefinitely a great purchase though.I do agree that the cover is lack lustre given the brilliant photos insideA great book

I bought this as a gift for my dad who is a big Beatles fan. He loves it and looked at it for hours. A great gift idea for the Beatles fan in your life.

Beautiful photos, beautiful book by Don McCullin.

Lots of interesting photos, many that I've never seen before, but very disappointed that so many of these shots which were originally in vivid bright colors are featured in black and white. Very disappointing, that the majority of the photos are printed in black and white.

A wonderful collection of photos taken on the ‘Mad Day Out’ around London in 1968. Some lovely colour photos, and very striking black and white ones. A delightful book for any Beatles fan.
