Badger Air-Brush SNR-210 Stynylrez Water Based Acrylic Polyurethane 3-Color Primer, 2-Ounce, White/Gray/Black,

I build model planes and tanks, and I struggled with primers for so long. I special ordered Gunze Mr Surfacer from China, I decanted Tamiya primer from the can, and I struggled through Vallejo Primers. Vallejo black primer isn't too terrible to use, but their gray is god awful. It would spit, clump, and just perform subpar no matter how long I shook the bottle, or what PSI or distance I sprayed, or how much I thinned it with their thinner or flow improver. I just thought the error in the other primers was with me - maybe I wasn't just good at using them. Then I saw a few reviews for the Badger stynylrez primers and I slowly began to gain hope. I held off for so long, just trying new techniques with my existing primers. But finally I broke down and ordered these primers. What a HUGE world of difference. Absolutely insane. I poured the gray primer straight into my airbrush, cranked the PSI to 30, and sprayed my Tie Fighter from a distance of 4-6 inches, all just like the bottle says to do. This stuff goes on like a dream. It's sooooo easy to use. It covers cleanly, with no spitting whatsoever. Every few minutes, I did find that I would have to do a spray at full pressure just to clear the nozzle, but that was it. The color was perfect for the tie fighter too, I don't think I'll be going back over it with any other color. The gray primer is a bit darker than the other gray primers I used - instead of Vallejo's light gray (which I think is most similar to Tamiya's XF-19, sky gray), this gray primer is much darker. It's more like Tamiya's XF-53, neutral gray. However, I like that - it's not too dark to where you have to pile on your top coat, but it's also dark enough that you can use it a shadow coat if you like. My only lesson learned is to clean your airbrush out every so often. I maybe added more primer in my airbrush cup like 3 times or so, for around a total of 8 minutes, before I cleaned my cup. The paint on the inside had started to solidify and required a bit more elbow grease to remove. It came off great, but my advice is to clean your cup anytime you run out before adding any more primer. When I started cleaning my cup before I refilled it with the primer, this issue completely resolved. The primer came out easily with just water. Bottom line, this stuff is the best primer I've ever used. It sprays like a dream, the coverage is incredible, and I experienced absolutely no issues with it. Just be sure to clean your cup regularly when using it.

The quality of the product itself is great. I'm very happy with the primer. These are the smaller bottles (clearly stated, so surprises) and I normally get the larger ones, but all of the suppliers have sent bottles that are horribly separated and unusable recently. I saw this seller advertising as next day delivery, one of those "this qualifies for $25" whatever. So I thought I'd try, expecting to return another ruined. set. Nope! These were in perfect condition. I wish I could get the larger bottles, especially when 3x4oz bottles are like 23 bucks compared to this. But hey, I finally have something that works. I'll keep looking for a good supplier of the 4oz bottles, but until then, I'm happy enough.

This stuff is incredible! I’ve been using it on my 3D Printed models and it adheres to it incredible well. It is sandable but don’t think it will take place of a filler primer with deep holes or thick layer lines. I usually add some spackle or wood filler to my 3D models, then sand it down and prime it. I’ll then do some sanding, prime and sand, etc... it will fill in small gaps that I missed after the wood filler and sanding, but it would take WAY to many coats of primer to fill the layers in if I haven’t done the filler first. This isn’t a filler primer so It can only do so much in this regard. As just a primer it is truly amazing. I do have to say I haven’t used any other airbrush primer so I don’t have anything else to compare it to but I have used spray can printers and this works IMO better for 3D models as long as your not using it as a filler primer

I have used all three colors so far, and am reasonably happy with them. Not sure if I would buy this three pack again, or instead get the larger bottles; my only concern would be I couldn't use the contents of the larger bottles quickly enough before they dried out. I have no idea how well this paint will hold up to time, nor have I used any of this paint system on metal. Also, I am not sure how well it would stand up to use on gaming miniatures without a protective clearcoat, but static models shouldn't have any special problems. There have been no issues with paint adhesion to the bare parts. There is a decent pigment load (with qualification below) and will cover quickly with both airbrush and by hand. They can be used in an airbrush straight from the bottle, but thinning them slightly, especially if it is below ~75F, can be helpful. All three colors are surprisingly sensitive to temperature, and had the white clog up the airbrush to the point that I had to disassemble it entirely to get semi-solid clots out of the mechanism. I've so far used on these primers Vallejo Model and Model Air, Privateer, and some surprisingly old but still viable Games Workshop paints with no problems at all. The primers and above paints also mixed well together. I have experimented with some Liquitex acrylic paint additives (matt, slow dry, iridescent, and gloss) and they seem to work well with these Badger primers thus far. Predictably, the white is the more problematic of the three. It takes many more coats to conceal the color of the plastic or other material than the grey and black primers. The white for whatever reason seem to clump up more and generally be significantly more difficult to spray...or maybe I'm just lucky.

This is by far the best primer on the market. BADGER does an exceptional job with these primers, as it flows easy from an air brush or can be applied with a paint brush. This is my go to primer for all my projects.

Primer premezclado listo para aplicar con aerógrafo. Tiene muy buena cobertura y rinde mucho. Al venir en tres tonos permite aplicarse como base para cualquier color. Es muy fácil de aplicar y se nivela bién, no deja grumos ni bultos. No daña el plástico. Un inconveniente que tuve es que los residuos no son muy fáciles de limpiar en el aerógrafo aún inmediatamente después de usarlo, aunque tal vez no he encontrado el solvente adecuado. De 5 a 10 minutos seca completamente al tacto. De un día para otro cura y endurece perfectamente al grado que no se levanta ni raya facilmente raspando con las uñas.
