Our original one snapped off and needed a new. Bought a different brand and it lasted 1 month. This one is made well and still going strong.

The parts arrived quickly and they were easy to use. I was able to convert the side that actually drives the mechanism to be a left side or right side part and that was really nice. Once I put it together it’s been working ever since really like the metal turning wheel instead of the previous plastic, which broke

We've loved our Coolaroo blind and it is greatly reduced the heat from a large pain window that gets direct morning sunlight. We were extremely disappointed that something that was going to be in direct sunlight would have a plastic crank ball for opening and closing the shade. This replacement has been outstanding with its metal opening crank. Coolaroo would be smart to use these on their product as I would think of them as a much more reputable company if they didn't have a plastic crank that breaks quickly and can really tear up your hands if you have to manually open the shade.

Pictures are not representitive of the actual product sent. The screws shown in the pictures on the back of the items are not present. I bought this item thinking it could be easily turned around and used on opposite side of blind than originally installed by unscrewing the screws on the back and turning upside down. this is the only reason I purchased this exact item.

My Coolaroo original part had a plastic receptacle for the wand. After a few years under the baking sun it got brittle and broke. It was unclear at the Coolaroo website whether their current replacement part is still plastic or whether they've wised up and gone metal, and so I played it safe and avoided buying from them. This part that I bought through Amazon is the exact same dimensions as Coolaroo OEM and is all metal. So far so good and here's hoping it lasts longer. One complaint: no directions were supplied, just the parts and hardware. But it's apparent that the part can be used for either ceiling or left or right side wall attachment.
