Works as it should
Really nice pepper mill. Super smooth operation. Gives a really fine grind and just a couple twists is all ya need. Beautifully finished. Feels nice in the hand. Best is that it's not plastic like my old one.

It does it's job very well!
Works really well! It evenly disperses pepper and it's great that you can easily control the coarseness.

Takes a lot of work, but I love the fresh-ground pepper.
A few months ago I bought a highly-rated famous name brand manual pepper grinder for more money. It lasted about a month. "Product Support" was just a fairy tale. No product support. According to reviews, this baby performs well and has excellent product support. SO: I got it. I tried it out. It does a fine job grinding my mixed-size peppercorns to the desired courseness but the output is pretty small. That is: it takes quite a bit of twisting to output the amount of pepper you might use when cooking (which is definitely one of the reasons I wanted a pepper grinder). I get about 1/8 tsp of fine-ground pepper per minute of frenetic grinding. Disappointing, but not a deal breaker. I will definitely continue using the grinder, but I wish I didn't have to work so hard at it. 4 stars only because it takes so much "work" to get the pepper out. Pros? - Holds a lot of peppercorns - Seems to work fine with the assorted-type peppercorns (with corns of different sizes and colors) - Looks pretty nice (but note: not super-fancy. My previous crappy name-brand grinder looked like a work of art.) - Reviews claim great customer support. (I hope I don't need it.) - Comfortable to hold (but not so comfortable to twist. Maybe I'm too old for this style of grinder...)

Worth the extra cost - money well spent
This is a beast! My 18yr-old wooden mill finally broke down. I tried a few other wooden mills but all of them were disappointing - either very cheap and light wood or didn't hold many peppercorns or both. This one was at least double the cost of the others but it is worth it. This mill feels great - it is heavy, stout, holds a large volume of peppercorns and grinds perfectly and efficiently. My search for a wooden pepper mill is finally concluded. Money well spent.

Classic design and quality!
Quality Pepper Grinder! Easy to fill! Easy to adjust the grind from the top! Real materials! Love the wood and metal! Had one like this that lasted many, many years. May have been from the same company. Every one bought since has broke down due to cheap plastic, etc. Love this one!
