Zoo Med MagClip Magnetic Suction Cups. 2 Pack

After getting fed up with suction cups that hold up various items in our aquarium (heater, thermometer, etc.), we converted everything to these magnets. They are much better than suction cups because all suction cups will fail after some time under water. They lose suction or just come off. These magnets never fail, they just don't stop working. The only down sides are that they are a little bulkier than suction cups and you have to be careful using them with heaters because the magnetic field can affect the internal switch in a heater and prevent the heater from working correctly (just locate the magnets away from the heaters internal sensitive parts, like the thermostat).

Yes they are quite a bit more expensive than plastic/rubber suction cups BUT these don’t lose suction after a month like standard suction cups. Each package contains 1 magnetic suction cup assembly with multiple sized clips (for air line tubing, vinyl tubing, heater tubes (not titanium elements as that could melt the clamps)). These screw in to the one assemble. The assembly contains 2 parts to hold it in place, one on the wet side and one on the dry side. If you need to hold tubing in 2 different areas, you need to purchase 2 of these. Unless you lose part…these should last basically a lifetime for you. I have been using these for many applications for well over 5 years with no issues.

Pros: Literally why does the alternative even exist at this point? This is such a better mounting system for almost any aquarium or Terrarium application.Cons: The screw in clips are finicky and fragile and the product is over priced due to lack of competitors.Overall it is so much superior that the drawbacks are still overcome by lack of a viable alternative because it obviates the actual suction method

I LOVE these! I have been seeking something to hold my aquarium airline tubing in place that could stand the tests of time. Every single suction cup clip I have used failed very quickly. This is PERFECT! My only wish is that they sold the magnets and clips as separate sets in different sizes. All of the clips in the sizes I will never use are just a waste of plastic and will contribute to filling up the landfill, which we do not need on our planet. So yeah. Sets of each size with a magnet set for each clip. I would definitely pay the extra money for that and be happy. Magnet idea is stellar!

I really needed something to hold my heater onto the side of my salt water tank. These looked great. I thought the price was high even when thinking in a two pack you would get a total of four magnetic sets. Nope. Each pack is one total kit - which includes the part on the inside and the outside - just one. The picture shows two circular things which I assumed were two magnetic sets per kit. So, if you are planning on using two clips to secure a larger tank heater - you may end up using the "two pack" to hold one item. Terrible value for the money, but seem to work well. Just really disappointed in the value. 9 bucks per replacement suction cup basically.

I have a sponge filter as a secondary polishing filter in my planted aquarium that was constantly falling off the glass due to the lack of suction from the provided suction cups. These magnets completely solved that issue and now I no longer have to reattach the filter every few days as I previously had to do.

I have used these mag racks for years and have probably purchased 20 of them over the years. I have had 1 or 2 rust on me but as with any aquarium magnet, there is a risk of that happening. I recommend inspecting the inside pice every few months for signs of a swelling/rusting magnet and discarding if you it is failing.I use these to hold frags and to hold probes and even heaters. I like that they come with multiple clamp sizes that screw on. Highly recommend!

The variety of clip sizes are great. I had no problem finding the sizes I needed. The hold on this is really good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is with only one per package that doesn't work well with things like bubble wands. Getting the bubble wand to stay down with the clip from this centered on it is a balancing act.
