I bought it because it was cheaper than the universal clutch kit and took the chance to see if parts would fit. Worked out nicely. I have an 06 Honda Shadow Bobber and installed 14” apes so the clutch cable wouldn’t reach. Throttle cable barely reaches, so I’m buying this kit again to redo that cable. The kit has plenty of parts for a universal application. I reused the nylon sleeve for the small barrel end from my stock cable and slid that on with the brass barrel end from the kit. I also reused the stock bolt piece that the cable goes into for tension because it was bigger and already black. Quick install. Soldering was a breeze. Crimped the other end. I spent more time routing the cable and finding pinch points. I saved the excess parts. Never know when you’ll need something in a bind. Great kit!

I bought this kit to fox a 2002 Triumph clutch cable. Worked very well. A nice selection of parts. The missing star is for two reasons, 1. not enough larger round nipples, they are all barrel except for two tiny ones. 2. It references solderless nipples which are not included. Fix those things and this would be the perfect kit. I was able to affect my repair well despite these omissions.

Sometimes you just can’t buy OEM, I’m doing a raptor 660 engine swap with a different motor and this kit was perfect. I first made a throttle cable with bicycle cable which is the same diameter galvanized cable as in this kit. Throttle was hard to turn and would stick nearly wide open. In the description of this kit it notes that the cable is a 7x7 strand and after doing some research I found that this type strand it is more flexible because of the way it is constructed. Watched youtube videos on how to solder cable ends and it worked the first time. Placed a 1.5 x .5 metal lid in a vise, used a torch to heat underside of lid and melt solder, slid cable thru cable end then slightly frayed cable end with a small screw driver, dipped cable end in acetone to clean, after drying I melted some flux, dipped the cable end in it, then dipped it in and out of the lid full hot solder. Clamped the cable end in vise and pulled very hard on cable and it is very secure. Also I only had to attach one cable end because one end of kit cable had a small cable end already attached to it and I was able to utilize one of the cable ends in kit package to slide onto cable. The twist grip throttle is working as good or better than OEM. Very happy with this kit. Nice when something works easy.

I bought this cable being kind of skeptical since i've never made, repaired or even worked on a cable before. I tried my luck and put my skills to the test and with a few trials and errors, doing and redoing, i was able to make this work flawlessly! The only downside to this is they only include one nut to the adjustment portions when two is needed other than that it pretty much had everything i needed, although i did have to do some custom work to make some parts fit, it came out great! i have never soldered before and this was extremely easy to do after some errors, Just make sure you leave enough slack to make mistakes and still have room to cut and redo. I recommend 60/40 solder as it seeps in and locks the cables! Definitely purchasing another one to build and have as a back up! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

I had a snapper with a control cable that was no longer available anywhere. This kit had all the right pieces that something was bound to fit and it did. I thought I was going to have to solder something on the cable but didn't have to. I wish I bought one of these last year when I went through two cables to try to get the right parts to make something work.

said that it had non solder connectors but there wasnt any

There were enough parts to make a cable.....quite light tho........

There are enough pieces to make throttle cable, but everything is pretty light and breaks easily. The ends for cable cover don't stay in place after light crimping and break under more pressure. The screw in ends to keep cable from going into handle were both same size and too small. Impossible to Sauder the ends on even though I have had alot of experience with saudering. Ended up putting the whole thing together with JB Weld and that seems to work, but not as described.
