Q: I see the device only has mono rca in/outs. suppose this means i will have to get mono to stereo rca cables?

This product has 4 outputs that you can configure what to do with either digital USB audio input, Toslink input, or analog RCA input. There is nothing "mono" about this product and it doesn't need any special cables. The two inputs and 4 outputs can be used in whatever way you want (incl. stereo). The software tool allows you to decide what is left and right flexibly.

Q: Does this product completerely replace audysey xt32? does it produce better calibration results. is the final curve adjustable afterword?

Audyssey is automatic and many-channel. You calibrate this manually and it's 2 channel stereo. With a good mic and/or ear, and some knowledge, the 2 channel results from this are near perfect.

Q: Will this allow me to sum 2 channels into a single sub input?

The miniDSP 2x4 will allow you to sum the channels. Please visit the miniDSP site and applications page. There are instruction under Digital Crossovers. It is for a 2.1 system, but you would just need to use the instructions for the subwoofer part.

Q: Is this a stupid question, how many bands does this EQ have?

Ten (10) bands in each of the six (6) PEQ banks
