Gauges are economical to use for monitoring your engine.The only issue I have experienced in my installations is that you can't really screw down the plastic cups (nice and tight) because they are loosy-goosy for plastic threads. I mount these to an 1/8 thick face plate which doesn't give you a lot of grip on the gauges and cups becuse the thickness of the faceplate takes away the thread contact patch.I resolve this by gluing them together with hot-melt glue so that they don't come undone from vibratrion.Easy to install, look fine. Needs more contrast to read the gauges quickly at night.Overall good product.

tossed em in an old land rover classic, didn't want to spend lots on quality gauges and they were meant as a 2nd measure anyways. wanted something smaller that would give more options to mounting etc. What a surprise though... these are so inexpensive it's hard to fathom how they are sold for this little. I ditched the mounting plate and flush mounted them all in the dash, they look awesome and the retainers for the gauges are better than any other gauges I've installed over the years. Each works as designed, I always sleeve the nylon lines with vacuum line to protect em and these went in well. I really like em. Couple of things:1) they don't come with the rubber covers to change the bulb colors so if you want red or green for instance for illumination, get the optional covers for each bulb... 2) I didn't think much of the sweep and measurements. The coolant sweep is long and the increments leave the needle at about 1/4 travel at operating temperature. I prefer to have all gauges point about midline at normal operation for a quick look. Probably not a big deal to most people but as a gearhead and mechanic I am picky on those sorts of things. Most all gauges can go full sweep or half etc and it's just something to choose ahead of time.I'll get these again for anyone wanting an inexpensive set that will hold up and has all the fittings etc.

I like to use the 1 1/2 inch gauges because they fit in a DIN slot under the stereo - this is a very nice set, and the only reason it did not get 5 stars is it has white needles.It is a bit of a personal thing, but as my eyes age, I am no longer to see the white needles, at night, without my glasses, daylight no problem but at night, they're useless - so I replaced them with another brand that had red needles.These are slightly more expensive at $34 as compared to $30, but are a better construction, and a better quality - they also came with all the terminals & fittings I needed for the install (I had to source my own ring terminals to install the other brand.So - if you don't have an old man's eyes, and the white needles are OK with you - this is a great gauge set, BUY IT, you won't regret it.===========================================================================================================Fast forward five years - I'm tossing out TWO sets of these gauges - the plastic surrounds around the gauges become brittle with time and break, falling into the gauges, jamming the needles...

i bought these to put in place of my radio in a jeep xj. only problem I have found is that the temp probe is very big and long. i wish it would have come with a 1/8th npt but it came with a much ,much bigger one. temp seems to work but once again they give you very tiny lines and reading under 190 degrees. Why they do this, I have no idea. i run at 180-185 and I can't really see it. would be nice if they just went from 120-230 with the whole sweep. Oil pressure easy to read and works, same with volts

These fit perfectly under the dash of my Buick. A nice addition as the car only had lights. Now I have gauges.
