Although there were cheaper respiratory exercisers available, I still went ahead with Newnik because it looked of much better quality in the images and I wasn't wrong. Product is made of high quality sturdy plastic and the packaging etc is very professional too. Shouldn't cheap out when health is concerned. I bought two and Amazon sale cashback did reduce the effective price. However I'd urge the manufacturer to sell it at a bit lower price because there are a lot of people suffering respiratory issues and a lot of them are from low income group. Noticing in the reviews that a lot of people are confused about how to use this. Big mistake people make is of hyperventilating. Breathing in and out too fast will only build up CO2 in your blood and first sign of that happening is one feeling dizzy during the exercise. So don't do that. Correct way is to first exhale away from the pipe, then start inhaling at a pace that raises all three balls in 1 to 2 seconds. After that maintain that breathing rate so that the red ball doesn't fall. Total capacity of this exerciser is 1200cc per second. An adult male's lung volume is around 5500cc to 6000cc. So most people will be able to keep the red ball up for 5 seconds max. If you have a Respiratory condition that has reduced your lung volume then you'll have a hard time keeping the red ball up for the 5 seconds. Don't force it and gradually increase your capacity. Don't make the mistake of inspiring too fast. Forced inspiration is when your muscles in the neck, middle of chest and upper back seem to tighten up. These are accessory respiratory muscles which generally are not used extensively during normal breathing. Breathe using your diaphragm instead. This will be difficult initially for people with poor breathing habits. If you haven't been breathing properly all your life then by now your respiratory muscles would have become weak due to not being used properly. I myself noticed my respiratory muscles straining a bit after after starting these exercises. Don't force elderly people to move the red ball up. Some will never be able to. Always ask your doctor first and teach people the proper technique. I read one person in the comments is forcing his grandma to push the red ball up during exhalation. That ball will never go up during exhalation, note it is smaller than the other two balls. Kids will have smaller lung volumes. Asthmatics may have normal lung volumes. Asthma is a disease of the airways and a lot of times lung volume is not affected. Still asthmatics must do this exercise regularly. Do not do inhalation exercises in a dusty or polluted area. That'll only send more pollutants and allergens in your lungs. Do inhalation exercises at least four times a day with at least ten repetitions per session. Increase gradually. Lesser times if you're unwell or it makes you tired. Find a suitable regimen for yourself. Do it before meals and not on a full stomach. Get a peak flow meter and track your lung capacity from the day you begin exercising. Good luck!

Received this product a few days ago. The product is sturdy, genuine food grade plastic and hard so that no plastic material enters your system. Before using this product, just clean the whole product including the inhalation tube, in filtered water with a bit of vinegar, so as to sterilize it, again wash with filtered water then keep it to dry and then use it. Now coming to the product. This product is the one which everyone needs, because we train all our muscles but not aware about the muscles connected with respiration. Doing this exercise keeps your lungs to get rid of residual air that remains at the bottom of your lungs unchanged , which gives rise to infections, but laughter or laughing is the only way which gets rid of this residual air and refreshes your lungs. By doing these inhale exhale exercises regularly, you can lower your mental depression and stress which helps in maintaining normal blood pressure. This product is a must for every health caring person.

This is a scientific device and though makers mention some standards there is no enclosed quality certificate. While sucking air 3 balls work. But when exhaling with apparatus upside down only two balls move .One does not move up. hence there is something malfunctioning in design. For example by breath meter I can force out 520 value on breath meter still i cant move up third ball while exhaling but can move up all three balls while inhaling. May be supplier will clarify on these points.
