I had the chance to demo the mini version a while ago, so I knew what I was getting by going with the larger option. First, the packaging is well made and makes it easy to store your boats when not in use. Though the board comes with a brush, I find the quality to be very low, with a few stray bristles that refuse to be plucked or set right. I'll be looking into replacing it with a higher quality calligraphy brush in the future. The board performs as expected, and I find myself typically spending more than a half hour at a time using it to practice lettering or just making relaxing art. I highly recommend keeping the box to store your board along with the corrugated plastic sheet they include with it. You do not want anything other than clean water touching the surface or else you risk compromising the ability of the board to retain water. 4/5 stars is simply because of the brush quality. Everything else works as I expected and desired.

This is a great item for anyone with even the slightest urge to doodle! I also found it inspiring to work on calligraphy as well with as a creative tool for my granddaughter. Good for ages 5 to 95. I like the ephemeral aspect of the drawings, very eco-friendly. ,

Ho fatto un regalo a mia figlia che studia giapponese e l'ho fatta felice. Le permette di esercitarsi con la scrittura giapponese senza stare a sprecare carta. Sembra un sottile foglio di carta su una tavoletta di ardesia. È molto delicato ma perché è un oggetto molto particolare non per altro.

I placed the buddha board in a common area for everyone in the family to enjoy. To my great surprise, everyone had a go at using it and had heaps of fun with it. In fact, we started having discussions on how to write certain Chinese characters, which is a great way for us to connect with our older parents. My husband also commented on the fact that he love that it just dries up and disappears, so he doesn't care as much about making mistakes, allowing him to freely draw whatever. Big thumbs up from everyone!

My partner is challenged by ADHD at times. I purchased a Buddha Board for Christmas and it turned out to be the perfect gift for him. Regular tap water serves as the paint ( I use distilled water due to high mineral content in my home water) and with a little creativity you can produce some beautiful results. Just dip the brush into the water and paint on the Buddha Board. The best part, I love to watch my creations slowly change as the moisture starts to evaporate, changing my creation into something else and then eventually disappearing all together, so you can start over again and again! Great gift idea, beautiful, simple and affordable. The Buddha Board comes in a simple box that can be used for storage when not in use. Kit come with a brush, a small easel, and the reusable canvas.
