Fantastic device. Fits well and very comfortable. It gives my hernia all the support that it needs so enabling me to live a normal active life without many restrictions. The position of my hernia makes surgical correction difficult

This Hernia belt, provided the support my 91yr old partner needed. He did however, require help putting it on.

I have worn this support with standard boxer shorts every day for three months so I have developed some experience of the product. It consists of a well made belt and an equally strong well made truss. There is also an adjustable pre formed pressure pad but I have not used it much as it is roughly of a triangular shape which for me is not the right shape and too firm. The improvements I would like to suggest are : some softer padding for at least part of the strap and truss as the material is quite stiff and hard on the skin, for example, at the back of the leg. The 'velcro' fastening is very good and effective. The cotton- cloth, short sausage- shaped padding I have fashioned and use, would be made more secure and kept in position if there were patches of 'velcro' material on belt and truss.

Thought it was worth making a comment since the product design & quality of materials and manufacture seem excellent. But people have been upset by the sizing - well I took a chance on the Large and it fits me - but I better not put on any more weight - I don't consider myself a 'large' man either... so see pic for actual 'freedom unit' dimensions. Bear in mind the velcro patch on the other end is about twice the length of the pad you can see - so you can go tighter by an inch or two, and you might sacrifice some velcro overlap to gain an inch maybe. i.e. adjustability is low. The published length range refers to elastic stretch - and sure if you hang an elephant from it you could probably make it stretch to 49 inches... but when new the elastic is strong so you don't want to be doing this for comfort or blood flow reasons. I'm not even sure the velcro could hold it at maximum stretch.

I was on the borderline with sizes and so opted for the larger size. The waistband is a perfect size but the leg strap is loose underneath. I have worn this for three days now. I tried taking the belt off quickly to see if it was holding the hernia in. It wasn't. I don't like the shape of the pad (a kind of rounded pear shape). This product needs a lot of improvement. In my opinion it needs a slightly softer and much flatter pad. It needs more adjustment on the leg band. From some of the previous reviews, the company need to improve their sizing guide.

I bought this for relief and it does appear to help, however, the sizing is WAY off - in my opinion. The product is sized according to waist size, yet the appliance sits around the hips - as shown in the product pictures. I am a 42" waist (106cm) and the large size is supposed to be suitable for waist 39" - 49". Perfect, you would assume. The actual length of the appliance is 43", but my hips, where the item sits, is 46" so I am stretching it 3" just to get the ends to touch. Because it is secured using Velcro type material the "waist band" needs to overlap at least a couple of inches, otherwise the 'spikey' part of the Velcro - which is on the inside of the belt - is against your skin and is very irritating. Why the smooth part of the Velcro is not against the skin is a mystery to me. Stretching the belt 3" to meet, plus the 2" for overlap means that we are now stretching the belt about 5" or 12 cm. It's starting to get tight! The thickness of the material at the overlap (see photo) is 1.2cm, which means that while sitting this part digs-in against my tummy, but for walking or working, it seems OK. I believe that anybody with a 49" waist would not be able to wear this without serious discomfort.

I bought this make because it seemed the most professional one, it was also the most expensive probably, but the product is really bad, first the size (although the guide it should perfectly fit mine) is very small și the velcro is hurting my skin because I cannot overlap it completely. It's also coming apart which makes it not functional anymore. Would definitely not buy this make again.

This is expensive and supports my bulge perfectly. Other products are more appropriate for higher hernias. I only use it if I am active, gentle liftings or gardening. It is comfortable and easy to put on and off.

Der Gürtel ist bequem und stützt sehr gut. Ich bin voll und ganz zufrieden.

Statt der o.a. (und bestellten) Stütze GROSS und RECHTS wurde eine solche in "mittel" und "links" geliefert - und das auch noch 4 Tage später als von DHL angekündigt (da gebe ich sowieso nichts mehr drauf). So klein wie mittel aber aussieht, fürchte ich, dass auch die große, rechts nicht passen wird. Schade, ein kompletter Fehlkauf für die Mülltonne. M.f.G: Dr. Dr. med. P. Zöphel, Gießen

Prodotto ottimo e utilissimo. Peccato solo che il gancio metallico abbia cominciato dopo poco a 'lasciare ruggine' macchiando la pelle.

Voy a dar 4 estrellas porque a nuestro entender tiene un fallo de diseño, subsanable con un poco de maña y porque las medidas que indican en las tallas no son realistas. No sé si este problema que comento es cosa de la complexión (delgada) o por la posición de la hernia y que, tal vez, para otras complexiones u otras posiciones de la hernia, la almohadilla no tenga ningún problema y funcione perfectamente como viene. El producto llegó en perfectas condiciones y en la fecha prevista. Al abrir el paquete se ve que es un producto de calidad, muy bien terminado y robusto. A la hora de probarlo, el arnés es muy cómodo y sujeta muy bien la hernia, pero sólo si no vas a hacer nada más que caminar o estar sentado. En cuanto se necesita agacharse o ponerse en cuclillas, como la almohadilla está sujeta sólo por un centímetro (aproximadamente) de velcro, tiende a girarse hasta que se despega o la mueve y hay que volver a ajustarla o sujetarla. Como vimos cómo se comportaba a la hora de hacer alguna de estas posiciones, le cosimos un trozo de velcro más largo (ver foto) y el problema desapareció, ahora es comodísimo y con una actividad alta, andar, subir escaleras, trabajo de jardín, etc, no se ha movido, no ha molestado y la hernia bien sujeta en todo el tiempo que ha estado puesto. Otra cosa, y ya lo esperábamos por haberlo leído en otros comentarios, las medidas de las tallas no son realistas. Para una cintura de 98cm pedimos la "Large", que supuestamente va de 100 a 125cm de cintura, pero la verdad es que sobra muy poco para ajustar la cintura. No imagino si la cintura hubiese sido un poco más grande. Por lo tanto 3 estrellas porque tal y como viene tiene un inconveniente, y 5 estrellas por lo cómodo que es. Por lo tanto ni uno ni otro, 4 estrellas. En cualquier caso, por el momento, muy contento con la compra. Espero que dure hasta la operación.
