Amazing pin for clay ceramics
I bought this product to use in creating clay sculptures, and it's excellent for that use. Although a little piece did fall off, it feels overall rather sturdy. The dents are well-carved and even.

It scores the dough, not cut. This is it's purpose.
This tool is designed to score the dough that has been rolled out so that you can pick up the piece and pull apart the the dough easily and then drape it for drying or drop it in the pot (or into a container for freezing). This is not a tool for cutting the dough and, it appears to me, that most of the negative reviews are from individuals who are expecting it to do what it is not designed to do. Look at a video of Italian ladies using one of these tools to see how it works. This is exactly what I wanted to take my pasta making to the next level. I was tired of using my pizza wheel to slice slice slice. With this, my noodles are uniform and very pretty. It has nothing to do with the taste and everything to do with the aesthetics in my kitchen. I am very pleased, and my 8-year-old son is excited for lunch time today. Please know what you are getting when you purchase this item. There are all different kinds of rolling pins designed to score or shape the dough. This one is perfect for my own kitchen and I am sure that I will probably be using it every week, except when I am on a diet.I have been debating about Christmas gifts this year and what to give. I am seriously thinking that jars of beautiful homemade egg noodles would be very welcome by many of my loved ones.EDIT: I added photos to better demonstrate how this works. For me, it's a total win and I love it. I would absolutely buy this again if a pasta thief ran away with it.

Good value
Purchased this and the pappardelle cutter as gifts for my mom. She loves them both. They are sturdy and work well, she just had to remember to roll once, not back and forth as you might when you're rolling dough with a regular rolling pin.

Perfect pasta cutter
I didn’t like cleaning requirement for hand crank pasted roller and purchased this cutter roller pin. Good quality wood, very easy to cut. If you cannot cut with this pin, still you can mark the cutting line and use pizza cutter.

Doesn’t “cut” the pasta well
It didn’t work as well as it should have. You need a lot of pressure when rolling it onto the pasta dough. After rolling I had to end up using a knife to cut the strips of pasta. A lot more work than I wanted, even though there’s nothing as delicious as homemade pasta !

It doesn't cut all the way through, it is a ragged "cut". I feel like I have an interesting yet totally useless tool in my kitchen. You are better off rolling up your dough and cutting with a knife.

Beautiful, functional and a fraction of the price of the same item in a designer kitchen catalogue. Purchase with confidence - you'll love it. I bought a narrow for fettuccine and a wider one for making lattice pies.

Rubbish, doesn’t cut through the pasta, ended up as firewood!

It's ok.
Takes a little bit of effort to make sure you've cut all the way through. It would be much easier to use if the handles rotated separately from the pin.
